Default Include SWS in REAPER v6

Hey guys,
please make SWS native in the next major update and bring these tools to the next level. There are some bugs in it for years now (just check the guitarhub page) that need to be fixed. Nevertheless we all really have big advantages using SWS so please make it part of the main software.

Won't happen because it's independently developed. Justin & co. don't want to ruin the open sourceness of it.

Indeed. SWS is a must have in REAPER for most users (not all), but we need this part to stay open source.

What is the problem about just installing SWS ?

IMHO it should be provided via ReaPack to make things easier for newcomers.

Moreover it might be useful to allow for installing just parts of the full SWS if desired.

Maybe Cockos could just officially maintain it though, this way it could still stay open source.

I guess that's what actually ment here, 'make native' is kinda confusing in this context.

I just want to be sure, the support doesn't end one day.

@Glass n Gang
If you are afraid that SWS support disappear, there is a donation button on website :P This may encourage developers to join the project !

SWS being a separate entity and open source gives us, the users, the ability to ourselves keep it alive potentially longer than even REAPER itself (as it is). It is not a limiting factor.

Justin occasionally makes changes to SWS as well.

Have you had a look at thje source code? It's organized by contributer not by feature or internal structure. No wonder nobody wants to touch the code.

Looks like a big bunch of code slumped together without much coherence. Please, don't let it go into Reaper.

@Masi It is really a big mess full of hacks, obsolete chunks and weird quirks.

Yeah, sorting that out would be a full-time job in and of itself... and nobody's gonna do that for free, let's face it.
