Default Smart tool picker action (Change fast mouse modifier contexts)

Very often i find my self frustrated that i can't change fast mouse modifiers for a specific context that i want to work with.

In other DAWs in order to edit something you select a specific tool for a task and each tool has its own mouse actions, different from the other tools.

In Reaper in order to do this, we have either to change manually each time the mouse modifier actions from the mouse modifier menu, or by scripting, which for many users it's not ideal since they 're not familiar with, neither fast.

My suggestion is to let us change the mouse modifiers for all contexts or specific contexts, with an action that it would contain every context menu and that would allow us to save mouse presets in this action. Then we could make a toolbar with a button and add this action that contains the mouse actions we want and use it as a smart tool just like the other DAWs. Then duplicate this action for as many smart tools we want to have

Another alternative way would be if we had an option to the mouse modifiers Import/Export menu, that would allow us to save mouse modifiers for contexts as action/script.

I think it would bring a lot of flexibility in Reaper to create our own smart tools, because now this is limited since we can only change the default modifiers with toggle state, without the ability to change left-drag modifiers for the task we want to use them.

It makes sense if I get it right +1

A way to have working modes: Area selection mode, select mode , delete/cut mode, stretch mode , etc ..

Exactly i made a small example of what could be possible and how much a tool could simplify things. Now think how much key combinations you have to make in order to use all modifiers for each context, while with this way you use the same key modifiers and way less

Paint mode
(Track context-left Drag)

default-draw item
Shift-draw item ingoring snap
Ctrl- draw item, pool midi
Alt-draw item loop visible or time selected section

Now i'm going to use the same key modifiers for the same context but with different actions

Area selection mode
(Track context-left drag)

Default-add area selection
Shift-add area ignoring snap
Ctrl-copy area selection
Alt-Add to area selection
ctrl+shift-copy area ignoring snap
----------------------------------
Split mode
(Media item context-left click)

Default-split on edit cursor
Shift-split ignoring snap
Ctrl-split on grid
Alt-split on transients

Again, same key modifiers for the same context but with different actions

Select item mode
(Media item context-left click)

default-select item
shift-add a range of items to selection
ctrl-toggle item selection
alt-add to selection
(Or any other custom action)
----------------------------
Stretch mode
(Media item edge-left drag)

Default-move edge
Shift-move edge ignoring snap
Ctrl-move edge ignoring selection
alt-stretch
alt+shift-strech ingoring snap

Again using the same modifiers for asjust start/end for the same context

Adjust start/end mode
(Media item edge-left drag)

Default- move edge
Shift-move edge ignoring snap
ctrl-move edge ignoring selection
alt-adjust start/end
alt+shift-adjust start/end ignoring snap

Another huge bump, how hard would it be to be able and load mouse modifier presets with actions? Since Reaper is a tool-less DAW and the behaviors in mouse modifiers are already a lot, it would be really useful and way more easy to change fast presets like tools so we don't have to use all different modifiers.
