Default Web interface works on IP but not name

Hi,

I have set the web interface settings to use rc.reaper.fm/uncleswede.

This doesn't work anymore (it did some months ago), throwing an error on the phone browser (Chrome). But if I use the allocated IP address (e.g.http://192.168.1.13:8080), it works :-(

Any ideas?

Cheers

Supposedly the Reaper Computer got a different I address by DHCP.

I'm assuming that, on the Web/OSC pref screen, if you untick the "user rc.reaper.fm" checkbox and reveal the IP address link, that is the DHCP assigned address?

Anyone else got any suggestions why I can connect my phone browser to Reaper using the allocated IP address (e.g. http://192.168.1.5:8080) but not rc.reaper.fm/<name>?

Maybe your login for rc.reaper.fm expired?

Or your browser got updated and no longer accepts that kind of redirected connection? It's Chrome and I've seen that doing the security dance lately.

Besides, is that on an Android or Apple phone?

@Cyrano - thanks.

I'm not sure that there is a login for rc.reaper.fm. There doesn't appear to be :-(

It's an Android (7.x) phone. I haven't actually tried another phone (this one used to work...) but I do have an old Moto phone I could try, to eliminate specific device issues

Did you try to add 8080 at the end, so it'd look like this:
http://rc.reaper.fm/uncleswede:8080 ?

I just tried it. rc.reaper.fm is running and works.

BUT: my Reaper can't open any port locally. Dunno why. Probably system upgrade. I'm on a Mac. This isn't your case, as yours works with ip. Or, because I'm running Ultraschall.fm with Reaper?

Another idea is that, since rc.reaper.fm doesn't require a password, your connection name COULD have been taken by someone else, pointing to a wrong ip?

Perhaps try making a new entry on rc.reaper.fm?
