Default 64 Bit Plugins (Free or Commercial)

List all good or great 64 bit plugins you use or have used here. Do not list any non 64 bit plugins as I myself am trying to get a full list of the 64 bit plugs out there and I'm sure many others would like this too.

Thanks,

Labyrinth

Do you mean plugins that use 64-bit internal resolution, or plugins that will work on a 64-bit operating system?

If its the latter, Voxengo Overtone EQ is the only one I'm aware of.

Default 64 bit mastering eq

slim slow sliders Linear Phase EQ is 64 bit. the interface is annoyingly small, but the sound is phenomenal IMO.

if your looking for a guitar ampsim I think BTE audio's 'Juicy77' aka "high gain guitar amplifier" is 64 bit.

If you want to test an effect, add Schwa's 'bitter' to your FX chain after the effect in question.

Don't assume that a 64 bit FX will always do a better job than a 32 bit one

Default Internal Precision...not ability

of working at/or with 64 bit audio. I do understand that a plugin is as only good as it's components or how well it works in general. (i.e. A Great 24 bit (precision) reverb will easily beat a 64 bit (precision) reverb if it 'Sounds' better.) This surely is not meant to be a debate. All I'm trying to do is to put together a good database for all Reaper users to use when searching for true 64 bit plugs.

In reality 64 bits internal processing is more of a future thing (especially for plugins) and most plugs still have not been recoded to work this way. Eventually all plugs and software will be working at 64 bits and things will sound better for it. If not at first, but things will have a better chance of keeping their integrity when being processed. (i.e. A great vocal that needs EQ, Compression, and Reverb will come out as a great vocal, but with the new components/fx added.) If not using 64 bits the more processing you do at lower precision rates, the more degradation you get- not to say this does not happen with the 64 bit math.

Some of these effects (that I like and use):

Stillwell
* 1973
* Bad Buss Mojo
* Event Horizon
* Transient Monster
* Verbiage
* Vibe-EQ

Anwida Soft
* Reverb Light (the name may differ)

Kjaerhus Audio
* Unipressor (the name may differ)
* Goldenpressor (the name may differ)

More to come...

All Stillwell Audio / Schwa plugins use 64-bit internal calculations where it makes sense, and are all capable of processing VST 2.4 double floating-point streams.

Default Some more Great FREE ones

All of GVST have been talked about quite heavily, both here on Reaper and around the web. They too are 64 bits (Vst 2.4). When I put them into action I'll report back.

This has been mentioned before, but you can use this free plugin to test the internal processing bit depth of any plugin. Keep in mind that just because a plugin is written to the VST 2.4 spec does not mean that its internal processing is 64 bits.

Put that plugin after whatever you want to test, leave all faders at exactly zero, and turn off any default sample rate conversion or varispeed. The lowest bar represents the bit depth of the plugin's internal processing.
