I appreciate the response, and I will explore that. Offhand I don't think it is exactly what I want, but I need to learn more. I know I don't want it as an input effect because MIDI monitoring seems to be fine. The problem with using it as a track effect is that (as I understand it) it's a real time effect, and not one that permanently affects the MIDI data. I want a destructive action and not a real time one. I would prefer an action that moves the MIDI data back to the original time, as I want to quantize and humanize the performance.
But you've given me food for thought, and I will explore this more.
