Feature request
Hi,
I'am a huge fan of ReaLauncher, there is only one little thing that could be enhanced in my opinion:
As a Mac-user I'am used to doubleclicking on the (highlighted) selection does the same as pressing the return key.
Maybe it's easy to implement that or has this been discussed before?
Thanks!

Hi, the Double Click behavior can be set/changed in the Options tab: - Show Prompt (default setting)
- Load
- Load in Tab
- Audio Preview

Thanks, it is already selected (load), but it does not work here :-(
I'am on a Intel-Macbook Pro 2019, running Mac OS 10.14.6 if this is of any help, if I can help with some testing, let me know..

In case it's about the difference between loading multiple selected entries via double-click and enter/return key:
Loading via double-click currently only works for a single entry (the one that was clicked on).
I need to check if it's possible to make a custom double-click behavior for the Listbox element of the GUI library so that loading multiple selected entries via double-click works the same as when using the enter/return key.
Added to my list
If the problem is a different one:- Does it only not work in a specific tab? Or regardless of which tab is currently selected?
- And can you post more details about what exactly is not working. For example: does using double-click not load anything at all? Or is something else (not) happening?
Thanks.

Doubleclicking does nothing, regardless which Tab I'am in (I've tried them all)
Thanks for looking into the issue..

The first thought that comes to mind is whether it could perhaps be related to the double-click speed setting (that the double-click is not registered or triggered).
As mentioned in post #488: https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=488

Just a note that I also noticed weird double-click anamolies in Realauncher. Thanks for digging into it, team RL

is there a way to sort backups by creation date?
I keep all rpp-bak in one folder so it's nice to use it with realauncher, but it sorts files by name, and in 99% of cases i simply want to reopen last backup

I don't know exactly when this will happen yet, but the plan is to add an additional sorting option by date in one of the next updates (sometime this year).

This looks awesome!
This looks awesome! One feature request though...
It would be nice if the font used could be customized (or if it followed REAPER's default_font_face in libSwell.colortheme). Without this, glyphs that the default font doesn't cover (such as Japanese text) display as tofus, at least on Linux, as REAPER does not fall back to other fonts that provide the glyph.

So Realauncher does two irritating things on my machine, could you please help me with these?
- Any opened project is untitled.
E.g. if i open an existing project called "projectX.rpp", that is then open, but Reaper acts like the project has never been saved before, showing no title in the top bar. And if i want to save it, the file dialog opens into the default save folder instead of the opened project's folder.
- When opening a project after startup, it asks me if i want to save my template first.

Which operating system (macOS, Windows, Linux), Reaper version (number) and ReaLauncher version are you using in this case?

From which ReaLauncher tab are the projects opened in this case?
If they are loaded from the Project Templates tab (or the Project Templates category in the Favorites tab): - By default .RPP project files are loaded as a template (with no title in the top bar)
- With the 'Edit Template Mode' checkbox option enabled, .RPP projects file are loaded as a project

Recent List Problem
Hi Solger, amazing work here!
I'm having an error in ReaLauncher in the Recent Projects area: the projects are all out of order. I would expect the most recent project to be at the top of the list, but it is instead somewhere in the middle of a 50 item list.
I tried:
- refreshing the list with the "refresh button"
- changing the sort from "newest" to "oldest" to "A-Z" and "Z-A." None of those options produces a list that is in the order of most recently opened
- turning "paths" on and off
I'm using
- ReaLauncher 2.4.3
- GUI 2.16.12
- Reaper 6.57
- MacOS 10.14.6
Thanks for your help!

Since I'm currently mainly busy with work, I'll probably won't get around to looking at it before the weekend.

Thanks for the report. Can you also please tell me which SWS version (Extensions > About SWS Extensions) is currently installed?
In general, this sounds like some sort of issue with the recent project entries stored in the reaper.ini (which are the ones read by ReaLauncher).
Here are some things you can try to see if this helps:
Option 1
Removing selected entries individually from the Recent Projects tab via the ' Remove selected entries' option in the right-click menu (also accessible by pressing Shift + M)
Option 2
Clearing the entire recent projects list: - Via the 'Clear entire list' right-click menu option in the Recent Projects tab
- Or via the 'Clear recent project list' option in Reaper's Preferences > General (accessible by click on the [Recent project list display] button at the bottom right)
Option 3
Removing entries from the reaper.ini manually:
- Go to Options > Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder
- Make a copy of the reaper.ini file first (so you have a backup, just in case)!
- Open the reaper.ini file with a texteditor
- Then find the [Recent] section and remove all lines with the (recent01=..., recent02=..., etc.) entries from this section - so that only the [Recent] entry remains (see example below)
- Save the changes and restart Reaper afterwards
As example, let's say the [Recent] section has currently these three entries:
Code:
[Recent]
recent01=Users/.../Demo01.rpp
recent02=Users/.../Project10.rpp
recent03=Users/.../Test-Recording01.rpp
After removing all three 'recent0' entry lines, only the [Recent] line remains in this section:
Another option to try is to remove only individual entries. As example by removing only the file path of recent02:
Code:
[Recent]
recent01=Users/.../Demo01.rpp
recent02=
recent03=Users/.../Test-Recording01.rpp
The important thing here is that the numbering (on the left side of the equal sign) is consecutive and that there are no gaps between the first and last number entries (recent01=, recent02=, recent03=, ...).
In comparison, something like this (with the entire recent02= line missing in between) would cause problems:
Code:
[Recent]
recent01=Users/.../Demo01.rpp
recent03=Users/.../Test-Recording01.rpp

I finally had some time to look into this and did some tests on Windows 10 with a fresh Reaper 6.42 install and RL 2.4.3 (with a default template set up for new projects and the 'Prompt to save on new project' setting enabled in Reaper's Preferences > Project).

I cannot reproduce this behavior here when loading projects from the Recent Projects tab. So not sure why it behaves this way on your system.
For testing purposes: is the behavior the same when doing this in a fresh portable install (installed in a separate folder next to your existing install)?

With the 'Prompt to save on new project' setting enabled, I get the 'Save project' dialog shown here when loading a project into a new project tab (in comparison to loading a project into the currently active/selected project tab).
If this setting is disabled, the save dialog is not shown.
Side note: the next ReaLauncher update includes a fix that ignores loading the default template when opening projects in a new tab. So the 'Save project' dialog should then also no longer appear in this case (regardless of whether the 'Prompt to save on new project' setting is enabled).

Feature request
Hi,
I'am a big fan of Realauncher, thanks a lot!
Currently I'am working with a lot of tabs and the SWS Project List Function. It would be very nice if the .RPL files could be accessed via Realauncher..

Thanks. Glad to hear it's useful.
RPL files can be accessed in ReaLauncher's Project Lists tab (after the folders containing the RPL files have been added in the Paths tab).
Let me know in case you have any further questions about this or if 'to access' refers to some specific functionality.

Thank you for the quick response!
It's already there!
But when I set the path to my .RPL file in Project Lists all projects from that project list are shown, is it possible to show only the .RPL file and to preserve the order of the files as it is written in the .RPL file..?

When the left sub panel (for the Project Lists) is enabled in the Layout tab for display, it's possible to select single RPL files there (besides the option to list < All > projects of all RPL files at once).

The available sort options for listing the projects of the RPL file are currently in alphabetical order only.
I'll add this topic to the feature request list.

Hello! I very much miss the tabs at the top instead of the dropdown list. Is there any way to have them back? I couldn't find any option.
Or do I have to revert to a couple of versions ago?
Thank you 💙

Hello,
- The good news: tabs will be back with the next update
- The not so good news: I didn't have much free time for coding in the last few months, so the progress of the upcoming updates is a bit slower than expected. But hopefully the next update will be ready for release later this month.
In the meantime, if you want to revert to a previous version: the last version with tabs is 2.3

As a new reaper user, I can say that your script is fabulous !
It saves me a lot of time to swap from a project to another.
As I have long lists of projects in the windows, it would be nice (especially when the files are in alphabetical order) if typing a letter would jump to the next file starting with this letter.

Hi,
I'm still in the process of finalizing some things. So the next update (that I was referring to in post #712) is not quite ready for release yet.

New Project templates and Track Templates are not detected by the new version.
Before the update I created 2 new templates.
On Project
One Track
I worked and they were visible from the 2.3.x.
I updated it to 2.4.3 and they are not visible at all. Even clicking on Refresh.
Constrained to downgrade to 2.3
EDIT: it's a problem from 2.4.x
In 2.3 I have 22 Projects Templates and 22 Track templates
In 2.4.x I have 19 Project Templates and 16 Track templates
Via Private Message i sent to you the link to the zip file that has screenshots.
Don't publish the content please.
It's just for you, to help to identify the issue.
