WHOA!

EDIT: This is very very cool, but it would be nice if it could also now separate time signature from tempo markers, perhaps?

Would be awesome if we could add other plugin types to these VST3 categories, too! EDIT: Looks like we can, simple drag&drop on the categories. Thanks!

Would also be cool to be able to rename all developers, not just those developer subfolders that were user created?

Also, having these new options available on right-click FX button context menu would be a godsend!

Not sure if this is what you're asking, but you can right-click the category or developer folder to add your own in addition to the auto-created ones.

Yep, I always right-click first - saw we can add categories and developers.

We cannot rename developers that were picked up during a plugin scan, though. Would be nice if we could. Really awesome stuff, here.

By the way, regarding right-click FX context menu, plugins that were hidden by prefixing them with # are shown in it, even though they shouldn't be.

We could add that, but if you then install a new plugin from the same developer, the original name will reappear as a second developer -- maybe that's fine.

Yeah, comes with the territory - could easily rename those new ones to go back to the originally renamed folder.

This... makes my own FX folder categorization a bit superfluous. I love it

Nice additions, thanks! I think it is time to remove Reapack/mpl_Sort plugins by vendor.lua (Always glad to remove something from repo after native implementation)

While on FX browser, there's one thing that's not been working over here for quite some time now.

The option "Include Cockos plugin in VST folders view" doesn't work at all.

And moreover, if Cockos folder is shown in "All Plugins", it actually lists no plugins at all. Why is this? Which .ini file to send?

If we're looking at the plugin manager, any sort of mechanism to deal with failed imports would be amazing. Or better yet, an actual manager to be able to disable/hide/flag-for-rescan.

The current way is editing the ini and looking for lines missing their descriptor, and deleting them.

This!

Since, you went to track groups.. Is there any chance to add track edit groups in the future? (ability to edit items of grouped tracks, as if the items were grouped)

How about having another "smart folder" like Categories and Developers, which would be on the bottom (or top, actually, since this stuff is usually important!) and called "Unrecognized" or "Failed Scanning" or something?

This way it's already a part of existing FX browser, no new dialog necessary, etc. Simpler implementation. Hiding is already possible by adding # to plugin name when renaming it - but this could also be done in a nicer way by simply having an option to "Hide plugin" when right-clicking it...

Default Play head visual glitch in marker region lanes

Really cool to see multiple lanes for regions and markers

Small gfx glitch - the playhead marker line extends into the tempo/time-sig lane.

Cheers

While you're looking at regions - would it be possible to change the insert cursor when moving a region to show the start, rather than the end of the region (now regions ) ? Current behaviour is not intuitive...

Cheers

Edit: Just to highlight the confusion when moving regions.

Would be good if the move indicator always grabbed the start of the region, and dropped it from the start too.

That said, the overlapping regions behave as expected when moving a sub-region of a larger region. Nice.

Thank you for expanding organizational abilities for FX.

If you are already looking at FX management system, can you please check why is there a time delay when opening Track FX Window by right-clicking on FX button in TCP?

If I left click on FX button in TCP, FX window opens instantly.
But if I right-click on the same button, there is cca 3-5 seconds delay before "Add FX/Add FX Chain" menu opens.

Can this be please looked into and solved? Thnx.

I know this is not probably the right place, but please forgive the shameless request... any chance to have the FX Chain window at last getting the same background color as the "add fx" window? It's one of the few windows still awfully white no matter the theming or so...

Quite annoying when working with dim light...

Thanks,
Mario

Yes, that would be nice If Item Properties dialog could have it, why not FX chain window, too?

Here's a SIX (!) years old post from Breeder listing all windows/dialogs that don't follow theme colors:

https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...2&postcount=64

(Eventually, SWS windows got themed, so that last entry should be scratched. Also item properties got themed at some point. )

If nothing is going to be done with tempo/timesig marker lane, why does it expand to 2 rows very early on?

As we stretch from the default height to taller, this is how rows are added:

1. 2nd region row
2. 2nd marker row
3. 2nd tempo/timesig row
4. 3rd region row
5. 3rd marker row
6. 4th region row
7. 4th marker row
8. 5th region row
9. 5th marker row
10. 6th region row
11. 6th marker row

It would make more sense for the tempo/timesig row to expand LAST, after we get to 6 region and marker rows first, if something's going to be done with the additional row, that is.

And still only 4 for Automation Envelopes for FX parameters? As an interim solution, wouldn't it be easy to use the 32 Group colours for each set of 32 parameters?

Please don't remove this. This new feature doesn't help much with those of use that have a ton of VST2 plugins, and your script does.

The new feature is very much welcome though!

Not true, you can drag&drop your VST2 plugins into any of the categories and developers smart folders, it will work!

I don't know about you, but my VST Folders extends way off the screen, and scrolling using the small arrow at the end of the menu is slow.

Would be really cool to be able to use the mousewheel to scroll the list, like you can in the FX browser for example.

Categories are interesting, but because these are optional and misused by vendors (Vengeance Sound think they are a category...), I don't see a lot of use for them here.

Edit: Can we have drag and drop folders in the fx browser, pretty please?

It is true, I don't want to drag 100s of plugins to folders!

MPL's script sets this up for me automatically and accurately.

cool but where are 5.61, 5.62, 5.63 & 5.64 ?

Each day a release, that's fast and it's difficult to follow what's new !

Agreed. Basically anything other than editing an .ini and manually looking for unnamed plugins would be welcomed.

Yes, of course, but still... I'll stick with my own categories. That's not to say I'm against this new feature if it works for you
