UAD seems to be broken in this one. GUI's are missing and Reaper crashes after shortly after loading some of them.

How does reaper create the thread for the VSTi ?. the freeze problem on add of a pace protectet VSTi in demo mode i get a R6016 error. microsoft suggest to use _beginthreadex. other DAW work, so maybe problem is not pace copy protect
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/d509d9f9.aspx
Quote:
Information for Programmers
This error occurs because the program did not receive enough memory from the operating system to complete a _beginthread or _beginthreadex call, or thread local storage has not been initialized by _beginthread or _beginthreadex.
When a new thread is started, the library must create an internal database for the thread. If the database cannot be expanded by using memory provided by the operating system, the thread does not begin and the calling process stops. This can happen when too many threads have been created by the process, or if thread local storage has been exhausted.
We recommend that an executable that calls the C runtime library (CRT) should use _beginthreadex for thread creation rather than the Windows API CreateThread. _beginthreadex initializes internal static storage used by many CRT functions in thread local storage. If you use CreateThread to create a thread, the CRT may terminate the process with R6016 when a call is made to a CRT function that requires initialized internal static storage.

thanks for the takes fixes.
I normally change takes via a shift click on the bottom of the item but it only works for one item at a time.
Hopefully this fixes that! thanks

very anoing midi bug
It happens when you overdub and record the same notes they overlap and everything it's a mess after, you can't distinguish the lengths of the notes . The strange part is that initially they show only in the midi editor, in the main arranger view they are invisible and appear only if you move them up or down.
I've tracked down it started after reaper5201.

I think this has been here for a while as it stopped me doing any MIDI work, and when I reported it, I don't think I explained it well enough!
Also happens with items that they 'join up' after stopped recording?

I would love to see how these improvements in take behavior translate into new ways of working or better workflow? Anyone care to make a video?
I use takes system way too little since it's a bit clunky so I would like to know how it's better used with grouping etc.

I would blame the VSTi -- REAPER uses _beginthreadex, and it static links its own libc.

thanks for answer. The problem is really strange. I can use in cubase 8 le 64 bit MUX 7 as VSTi container and add a ilok protectet plugin (Demo mode) in MUX 7 and it work. But when add in reaper a MUX 7 VSTi and i want add a ilok (pace) protectet plugin (i use air strike 64 bit demo for example) in the MUX 7 i add before in reaper, then it do always not work. same not work, when add direct in reaper the strike vsti. air support is on kvrforum. I write on this thread, and they answer
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewto...f=265&t=465317
there are more screenshots, and explain

5.23 is fine and so is 5.24pre5. Pre6 seems to be where it broke.

mirceablue and buckman, i recently reported the midi overdub issue in Bug Reports. pre-release discussion is supposed to be limited to changes made in the thread-specified pre. let's keep the overdub talk in the bug report thread:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=180453
please keep testing the issue and post your comments there (thanks, mirceablue!) until it's addressed in a pre
