Default Routing switching and bypassing in realtime

After seeing just how powerful snapshots can be on the Helix, I'd like to try and create something as handy inside REAPER for other plugins for live guitar use.

I'll be needing to switch in and switch out individual plugins, but I'd rather not make catastrophic bypassing errors, which are all too easy in low latency situations.

Also I have to turn on and turn off parallel paths, what would be a good way to do that?

Sometimes the whole path needs to be muted, but usually only the input to that path needs to be muted

you could just use a dummy JS plugin with a bank of sliders only. You'd then use parameter modulation to slave the wet/dry mix of other plugins. using the wet/dry mix instead of the bypass is a lot safer.

For parallel paths - maybe slaving the whole path to a gain plug in - and use your dummy js to control that gain.

your js sliders would just be on/off switches really.

Welcome to the Reaper forums !
It would be appropriate to continue this discussion in the "Live" subforum.

There, the sticky thread provide a lot of information that might be useful when you want to set up such a system.
