Default Console One / midi learn VST

Is it possible to enable feedback control when syncing a midi device to VST plugin parameters?

The MIDI learn works fine but the communication is only one way. Soft takeover is not an option.

The Console 1 is setup to to receive output in the midi device section.

It's also very cumbersome to have to click on the knob you want to control in the plugin then click "param" and then click "learn" and then have to click "ok".
In Studio One you can rapidly set up control with your plugin by just clicking the VST knob/button and twiddling on the Console 1. The whole thing can be mapped in a matter of seconds rather than minutes.

I'd like achieve the same speed and flexibility as S1 in Reaper but so far it's not worth using unless I can get feedback working and quickly sync the controller to the plugin.

CSI is now part way to doing this, and will eventually do exactly this.

There is now an action called FocusedFXParam that you can map a surface control to.

We had a VERY rugged alpha working as you suggest, and that is up next, after EuCon meters.

Here's a quick video -- you can see the feedback to the Console1:

Very nice, Geoff!

Will this work with Midi Learn or will config maps have to be manually created to achieve this?

Right now it's config maps, but as I said, after EuCon meters are done, UI Midi Learn style config is the next big thing that we will tackle.
