Default Free drum sample from me

Hey dudes, grab "The Cracken" snare off my site.

It's compatible with Kontakt, Trigger, and Drumagog!

Took me a long while to make it!

Sounds like this:

DL it here:

Cheers!

Thanks for the generous offer, sir!

BTW, is that a CB700 snare drum (the parent company used to be Cannon Percussion, I believe). My first snare drum looked A LOT like that one ;-)

I DLed this a few days ago. Unfortunately Alex's nki files were newer than my K4 update so I ended up loading the samples and programed them myself. I also noticed that he had all the nki instrument files separate for each part (Top, Bottom, OverHead, Room) so I put them all in one istrument and made a script with volume knobs and mute buttons for each part. I did this in K2 to fit all my computers, a couple have K2 and a couple of K4.

It's a very nice addition to my drum collection and adds a lot to my drum template.

Thankyou Alex.

1.) Choose a drum you want to record.
2.) Make a list of all playing techniques, left/right hand hits, release samples (if you want to get fancy) & velocity layers.
3.) Record in a nice room with a nice mic/micpre.
4.) Record lots and lots and LOTS of sounds at many dynamics.
5.) Edit the samples in REAPER. Choose the best takes and use them for the final library.
6.) Remember to install SWS Extensions so you can use XEN's awesome media organization tools!

Thankyou Alex.
Here's a screen shot of the Cracken instrument I made in K2. It's got all the mics with volume controls to adjust each part. It's also got mutes for each part.

I'd be happy to share it if it's alright with Alex. It should work with all Kontakt versions from K2 on.
