Default Constrain automation limits in track controls

If I add an FX parameter to a mixer channel, I sometimes want to be able to constrain the values of that 'knob'.

For instance, I use sequencer megababy, which has 48 or 96 patterns by default. But if I'm only using 9 patterns, I'd like to be able to limit the track control so that when I turn the knob all the way to the right, it only goes up to 9 and not 48.

Is there a way to do this?

Probably not directly. You could do it via parameter linking. There are plugs out there for it, but even a blank JS with sliders that do nothing could be used in many cases. Link the parameters and use the scale, baseline, and offset controls as necessary. Then you'd add the JS slider as a knob rather than whatever else. It won't be named properly and probably won't give meaningful feedback without a bit more tweaking if the JS.
