Spoke too soon about the fixed sluggish hand scrolling in the MIDI editor... The issue is back (independent of old/new PREs). But I was able to track it down. It seems to be a resolution issue. My monitor runs @ 3440x1440 pixels.
With that resolution the hand scrolling is laggy. However, when switching to 2560 x 1080, everything works as expected. Any idea, what could cause this?

I will double check this on my setup. I have dual 3440 x 1440 monitors and have had some sluggish redraws and scrolling but it has seemed intermittent so I didn't relate it to resolution size. I'm running an Nvidia P4000 which is a pretty beefy graphics card.

Where can these be accessed? (In Project Settings and in Item Properties, I only see "Optimize for tonal content", and none of the other pre-echo options that were recently added.)
Downward sloping stretch segments, even long ones, have terrible pre-echoes.

Thanks, boss. A new detail: You can get a 0 length note if note on pasted on the edge, either at the cursor, time selection copy, or nth note in a group of notes.

Hi i have a bug related to multi out VST3 (Roland Cloud tr-808).
As soon as i load a song containig a multi out VST3 of TR-808 Reaper crash.
As soon as i try to load in a new empty project a Track template containing Roland tr-808 VST3 with a multi out layout Reaper crash. Everything works ok in pre11, pre12, pre13. I only have the crash with RC1.

Thanks, this is somewhat expected (the relevant features/fixes in 5.81preX will eventually go to a release but they are not yet ready).

Yeah I suppose if you must use that plug-in, yeah. Though testing 5.81rcX to compare against 5.80 for regressions would be helpful!

If on take FX or bypassed track FX, if you changed parameters without audio being processed, those changes would not end up in the project/undo history/saved presets.

Ah, I think that is the problem. I'm hoping that FabFilter and/or Cockos can resolve that one one of these days.
I sent them an email reminder the other day but so far, no response.

Thanks! Then I might be able to migrate to all VST/VST3 instances which should clear up my weird playback glitch when I have all AU plugins except one VST UAD plugin.
In these cases I get a little playback interruption but if I use all AU or all VST/VST3 everything is OK from what I remember. It's been awhile since I looked into it though.

Same problem on my rig with 1x 4k monitor and 3 x 2k monitors. I'm on the Nvidia M4000. I believe it's the same issue with the AMD cards.
It started happening about 3 months ago.

Yep, that's about when I started noticing it as well. Scrolling and track selection are the main problems here.

With the MIDI editor maximized at 3440x1440 here I don't have any problems with lag. It feels very snappy for me.
8700K, Windows 10 x64, NVIDIA 1080 Ti.
I do notice that the dropdown boxes in each of the CC lanes are continuously repainting as I'm panning around. This creates a flicker that makes things look rather unpolished, and although for me it doesn't seem to be causing any performance issues, maybe it's related for you? Do things improve at all if you close all CC lanes (and minimize the last one)?

Hey guys!
@Tack: yeah, in the past, I already checked if removing the CC lanes improves things. But with no luck.
Today, I found out, that not only the MIDI editor is affected, but also the arrange window. Furthermore, one of my cores seems to really hit the ceiling:

However, I'm still puzzled about the cause of this issue...

I see similar sorts of things on my CPU graph but it remains quite smooth for me. Just to rule it out, any difference if you use the default theme? Or maybe even try a fresh portable install?

Okay, so CPU doesn't seem to be the problem.
Yes, I tried already the default theme and even checked with a portable install. Same result... I even tried different Hz modes on the monitor. From 30 to 75. Nothing.
May I ask which screen you got? I have an LG 34UC88-B.

Acer Predator X34. But it's almost guaranteed to be unrelated to the screen itself. It's far more likely to be related to the video driver than the monitor.

I was already thinking about that. But I have 2 different machines with the same issue. The only thing they have in common is, that they both have ATI cards inside. But the 1st machine has a HD 6850 and the 2nd an RX 460.
Newest drivers are installed of course.

Maybe I should add, that using the scrollbar for scrolling, works perfectly.
No laggyness or stuttering.
Also, there is no flickering in the CC lanes.

How are you scrolling when it lags? Err nm I see, hand scrolling. Looking.
