Default My new PC - Do I need Reaper 64bits?

Hello.

I have a new PC and wonder if I should install the 64-bit REAPER. This PC 64bit, but not very powerful. I'm wondering if REAPER 32bit would be better or is to better (mandatory) to have Reaper64 on a 64bit machine?

As you can see, I'm not a tech expert...

One last thing, my former PC was 32bit, so I have a big library of 32bit VST/plugins. It would be nice to use them, but if needed I will download the 64bit version (if they exist and I don't need to pay).

So.. 32 or 64; given the specs below?

.

Specs

Window10

SKU: LENOVO Ideapad 110-15ACL
Processor: AMD A6-7310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphic, 2000 Mhz, 4 Cores
64 bits ; x64 based processor
Intalled Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 Gb
Total Physical Memory 3.41 GB
Total Virtual Memory 4.03 GB
Available Virtual Memory: 2.46 GB
Page File Space: 640 MB
.

Thanks for any advice.

Yes 64-bit for modern computers

" Intalled Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 Gb"

before you do anything make that at least 8GB.

As EpicSounds suggested, go for Reaper 64-bit.

Reaper 64-bit will also load 32-bit plugins in bridged mode (in case you still want to use some 32-bit plugins where no 64-bit version is available).

As a side note: if necessary, you can also make a portable Reaper 32-bit install to a separate folder (side-by-side to the Reaper 64-bit install) in case you need it for any 32-bit plugins which won't play nicely with Reaper 64-bit for whatever reason: http://lacinato.com/cm/blog/25-reaperportable

64-bit is will be.

Thanks folks.

I had a look-see and found a hack into the laptop to add more ram, but... seems like Lenovo makes it rather difficult, need to pop the keyboard off to access a screw, then remove the DVD to access another screw, then remove a panel, then if lucky have an additional slot available because the other ram cards have been soldered in... pfffff

No biggie if the plugins can run in 64-bit, because I'm a minimalist, amateur, focusing on writing good songs first and descent sounds second. I also learned a few things doing the Reaper Mixing Contest; I learned that even with REA and JS plugins a lot can be done IF you got the right ear for things...

I was just wondering if given the low RAM of my PC a 32bit would perform better. Proves how little I know about computer tech.
