Default BASICS: How do I change the size of buttons?

Hey guys,

I love the REAPER 6 theme and I would love to adjust it a bit.

For example the routing & FX buttons are bigger than they used to, so I would love to make them smaller. I have a 1080p screen so the theme adjuster only offers 100% and more scaling.

I have never done any theme work and I stuck to REAPER's 5 default theme.

So, please, can someone guide me into the right direction?

Thanks a ton!

I have a 1440p screen, and still it only gives 100% or bigger scaling option in the theme adjuster.. hmm..

To minimize the icons in V6 you need to select the 75% or 50% layouts (Options/Layouts/TCP... MCP... etc.).

Thanks for the tip! This does not work for me. There is no difference between 100% and 50% layout. 150% and more enlarges the icons, but I can't find a way to make it smaller.

I feel like I have to dig into the config files to resize stuff but I have no idea where to look.

Nope.. 50% and 75% is the exact same as default, no change. I can make some things bigger though so instant change with 150% or 200%.

Kenny has made a video which explains the whole 50%/75%/100%/150%/200% thing, see HERE.

Changing the width of some of the buttons is an easy mod if you have some basic experience with fooling with themes (no WALTER knowledge required) but its going to take some time to get tutorials and things into place.

If you want to charge in bravely right now, the sections of the rtconfig.txt that you are looking for look like this:

Code:
; element size padding?
then tcp.recarm	20 0
then tcp.recmon	15 0
then tcp.label tcp_LabelSize 0
then tcp.volume tcp_VolSize 0
then tcp.io 34 1
then fx_group 36 1
then tcp.env 41 1
then pan_group tcp_PanSize 1
then tcp.recmode	39 1
then input_group tcp_InSize 1

Oh damn, this looks exactly like what I've been looking for. Unfortunately I have no idea what the variables for routing, fx etc are called & how to set their size. I'm not at all familiar with tweaking themes.

Damn. I'll be stuck with R5s theme for now I think, unless, if you feel like you can handle creating a simple tutorial on how to resize the routing, FX & Mute/Solo buttons.

Thank you a lot anyway, this forum is the best.
