Default Why would Addictive Drums (VST) not Show up?

Installed Addictive Drums as I usually would any VST type application/plugin, but reaper NO see (not present in FX/VST). Double checked, triple checked the VST path and the DLL is present. Addictive Drums Demo version (for now), should it, perhaps show up some other way/elsewhere?

thanks!

What is the AD dll file name?

Have a look in the reaper-vstplugins.ini file (you should be able to get to the folder containing the file from [Options] > select "Show Reaper resource path in Explorer / Finder").

See what is says for Additive Drums
-- if it's not there then Reaper did not scan it
-- if the entry looks similar to others, then Reaper scanned it OK
-- if the entry is short, then Reaper ran into a problem when scanning it.

Let us know.

I have the same problem. I installed Reaper 4 64bit on my new machine, installed Addictive Drums and my other plugins. I see that Reaper scans AD because I do see that it does at scan time. But it does not appear in the list of plugins available. It's the only plugin that did this.

Obviously reaper has good taste when it comes to drums and declines to list AD out of conscientious objection.

Seems to be a common problem with Win 7 64.
That thing hasn't seen an update for something like 2 years.
Dead product maybe? If you want to buy, I recommend you look elsewhere.

Hmmmm....
I am running Windows 7 64bit, and it shows up as it always has. I also have tried many other drum vsti's and find AD to be the best for my work-flow and needs. And Blastrio, the newest update, although not exactly new like a Reaper update, is less than a year old. Just sayin'.

+1
Works fine here as well.
FWIW I agree with what you say about Addictive Drums. I prefer it to EZ Drummer.

I tried EZD as well. Nice, but after the romance wore off, the lack of realism set in. I still use it for harsher and machne-like sounds. I also tried Jamstix. Jamstix is a very cool concept, and I've actually spent quite a bit of time learning it. It has a cool drummer-like behavior and it's customization potential seems limitless, but....
I still prefer AD to everything else. It takes me some time to get where I want, but the final results are the best, in my projects and to my ears. But, like using Reaper, there is something for everyone.
