Default What information is contained in my midi item?

I am having this problem that maybe someone can help me with. I write most of my parts on guitar pro and then export them as midi files and import them into reaper. The problem is for some reason the midi file seems to carry information in them that effect the synthesizers I use as plugins. For example, I will put a midi item on repeat and go into my synthesizer and start messing with it and then once it repeats some of the parameters reset or change to a specific setting. Currently a midi item is changing sylenth 1 to a specific preset. Earlier I had one changing the fatness on Firebird to 0. Why is this happening and how can I remove this information from a midi file? I know it is because if I create a new midi item and then copy and paste just the notes from the midi editor into the new one then it doesn't effect my plugins.

Sorry if this is common knowledge I am new to producing.

1. Open the MIDI item in the MIDI editor.

2. On the editor's menu bar, select "View - Mode event list"

You should now be able to see all the MIDI events in the selected item. Delete the ones you don't want - probably PC (program change) and CC (control change).

Remember to scroll down the event list as you may find unwanted embedded program changes there.
