In the previous version I noticed something; video window does not work when I add reeq. So the video is not visible. I hope not anymore.

Very cool update. If the node is a bit larger it will be super, a little bit larger. Thanks a lot everything.

Thank you very much for the new version and the added innovations.

I found dificulty in work process, in new version.
Example: If I first click on the playback in the reaper, and then move any band in the equalizer.
Onward, then does not work playback through a spacebar, on the keyboard.
The focus of the window changes and the hot keys stop working.

If I pressed the spacebar to play in the reaper, nothing happens.
In previously version (19th May 2019), everything was normal and playback always worked.
Please fix it.

I have a few notes though haha:
  • Maybe add a button to renumber the nodes according to their frequency position? Especially because the arrows in the panel to switch node follow the numbering system, not the position (which could be annoying).
  • I think the panel would benefit in having a more colored still semi-transparent background
  • When the panel button is engaged there's no dB indication on the right below -18
  • When the panel button is engaged, the panel is open and you click somewhere else the panel disappears (which is fine) but the gui does not reflect this new state.
  • Could you please add a double click function to reset the frequency, gain and q-factor buttons in the panel?
  • In the panel the red cross is a bit ambiguous... one could think it's used to closed the panel and not to delete the node (and ReEq doesn't have any undo points...)
With those changes I think ReEq would be really close to the Fabfilter.

Just my 2 cents other than that I like it a lot!

Default Bug pressing listen on Low Cuf 6dB/oct

Hi and thank you for this fantastic plugin. I found a little bug: when you press "Listen" on a Low Cut Band with 6dB setting, pressing again doesn't remove the listen bandpass. As a workaround I now select another band and press listen two times to remove the listen mode.

Thanks for the feedback. I wondered if this would come up.

I changed ReEQ so that it gets all keyboard input when it has focus. This is in anticipation of adding numeric text field entry for values. The problem is that there's no facility to send the keypress back to Reaper if the JSFX doesn't use it.

I can set this back to how it was. The downside is that if I add text field input in the future you'll never be able to enter SPACE. It'll start/stop playback rather than be entered in the text field.

Yes, a node's number is its absolute identity. It's useful to know this index because only the first five nodes are automatable due to JSFX limitations. If a reorder was done it would change those first five around which could get really confusing. I'll give it some thought.

Yes, by design and same as Pro-Q3 in this regard. When the panel is engaged the bottom part of the screen is reserved for panel control so priority is given to that. You can't control filter nodes beyond that lower dB point using the mouse either (clicking on the node places it back in the addressable dB range).

Also by design and the same as Pro-Q3. The panel is a reflection of selected filter node state. It would be jarring if the filter dB range contracted and extended based on whether you had a filter node selected or not. The filter nodes and transfer curves would jolt up and down.

You bet.

I agree. Pro-Q3 uses the same visual language but I think it's a mistake. [X] visually really refers to closing a window, not deleting. I'll change it to 'DEL' or something.

By the way, an idea appeared, how to catch two rabbits...))
When will you add text field input in the future,
as an option, you can add a space key in the exception.
For example, the activation of a simple space will be carried out through alternative key combinations.
"ALT+Spacebar"; "CTR+Spacebar" or "SHIFT+Spacebar" (any combination choice).
How do you think, alternative combinations for spacebar can be implemented?

Default Download location

I may be a little thick. I have an older version and would like to stay up to date but I can't find a download location.

Could someone humor me and point me to the right place?

Thanks much!

I have to check but I think there's in the pre release forum dev versions of reaper with hotkey override for any plugin. So that may be implemented soon enough...

I wanted to check out these two plugins, but sadly these are not working on my installation (Linux Debian Stretch / Native Linux Reaper). For both plugins I get a black screen with some text, but no spectrum. When I add the ReEQ also the sound goes away.

I think Reaper for Linux is still experimental. It looks like some of the drawing functions for JSFX haven't been implemented yet. I'd check back when new versions of Reaper are out.

I am really enjoying the new additions to the plugin.there is one small thing regarding presets,at the moment I have to manually change the Reaper preset file version number(js-ReJJ-1_0_4_ReEQ_jsfx)in order to see my presets from a previous in the dropdown preset list in the plugin window.Cheers.

There's a new release up.

Changes are as follows:

ReEQ doesn't steal keyboard focus any more. SPACE now works again for playback.
Close [X] is now DELETE in the panel.
Fixed the 6db high/low pass filter bug.
Increase the dial values font size on the panel.
Altered the default window size.
Reaper notified when dials change.
CMD/Window key + double click now zeros values in the bottom row.

More additions features on the way...

You're not the first person to have asked.

I do this to give to the community without any expectation of return. But...we're talking beer here and so who am I to deny the generosity of fellow Reaper users?

So...If you'd like to buy me a beer you can do so with the following link. Not mandatory at all but I'll toast you if you do.

It seems to depend on the compositor I'm using, which is compton. I killed compton and then it worked and after starting compton again it still works.
edit: WOW... this EQ is awseome!!!! Really nice features!

I rebooted and it is still working now. The solution was disable / kill compton once. Whatever that did .... (?)

On mac cmd + double click doesn't work. Also, when a node is selected when you click/unclick the panel button, that node should stay selected

Hey Nitsuj, thanks for all your hard work on this fantastic EQ!

I'm using the release from May 19th, and I've noticed that one instance of ReEQ takes 5 or 6 seconds to load per session.

This isn't much of an issue until I have 10 or more, which realy adds up. Is this normal? Are there any optimizations that could be done to make loading times faster? Or maybe It's dependant of my setup?

I run reaper from an SSD and the session files from a 7200 rpm HDD.

Which version of Reaper are you running? There was some work done on Reaper which sped up loading JSFX considerably just after ReEQ released. On my machine it loads in a few ms.

Hello,
Recently I'm found TDR Nova reports quite a PDC so looking for some general use comfy EQ. I remembered ReEQ from the past, so wanted to check it out, expecting is closer to final version
There are some findings, ideas from me:

1. While project is set to 48kHz, ReEQ running in HQ mode (I suppose x2 oversampling) still reports 480PDC per instance. Is oversampling still needed for 48KHz? I remember somewhere was stated that from this frequency oversampling is not used anymore. Or maybe it was above this freq?
2. Graph shows frequencies up to 22kHz even if project is set to 48Khz. I consider 22kHz as Niquist freq of 44.1kHz. So for 48 it should be 24. But maybe fixed limit is intentional.
3. While Low Pass filters have steepness rather than Q, please consider using Q wheel as steepness selector. Or make sure Q and Gain are disabled/grayed out when using filters that don't make use of them.
4. Would be nice to implement double-click for resetting values. OK, I found it work with key modified. wasn't it better without modifier??
5. I'm opting in for more slicky graph. It's not about aliasing, but it looks like build with quite long vectors.
6. A lot of users asked for more gfx options. I'm in I would like to see more color options. For example to change colours of pre-eq graph.
7. What about A/B comp?
8. more precise controls (knobs). Curently it's easier to set particular value on graph than using knobs. Maybe with help of some key-switch (I think ALT has such function in Reaper)
9. More ranges. Especially floor one at about 40dB (I used to 12dB/-48dB range in TDR Nova). As a completely beginner I'm not ready to track what happens near noise level
10. configurable speed of "gradual decay effect"

At the end I would like to thank you for this great EQ project. FabFilter-like display style is really very useful and intuitive

Found possible typo in features description in the first post:

Quote:
Press ALT or CMD (or WINDOWS) and double click on a value in the bottom row to reset the numeric values to default.
On Windows the mentioned modifier key is assigned to Control (CTRL).
As Windows I would never try Windows key for controlling an application, since the key has more "system" meaning"

With regards.
