This is part of several requests i made in the past and since Media Explorer is on focus i think this is relevant:
Quote:
1)In my case 95% of the cases i am searching the same words, so reaper please try to keep my searches : )
2) edited;: done
3) Option to Keep defined TimeStretch when Dragging from Media Browser to sampler/plugins
because if we are previewing a file with corrected tempo, we want to use it with this tempo on the plugin.
4) Option for showing full path in the bottom of media explorer

Some lil' media explorer FRs, seeing as it's being worked on:
- Option to disable file list navigation start/end "wrapping", and toggle-able action for this option. (See below for more detail.)
- Action to give the search field keyboard focus.
- Action to give the file list keyboard focus (see below).
- Action to rename file
- Action to move file to recycle bin
- Action to show in explorer/finder
- "Edit shortcut" feature. (This might sound weird, but it saves re-adding the shortcut or fiddling with reaper.ini if something gets moved on disk.)
Option to disable file list navigation "wrapping
When using arrow keys to navigate through a list of files in the media explorer, the navigation will "wrap" (or "loop") at the bottom (end) and top (start) of the list.
In other words, pressing down when the last entry is highlighted will jump to highlight the first entry in the list, and vice versa.
Is it possible to have an option (and associated toggle-able action) to disable this behaviour, please? For some reason it's always really bothered me.
Action to give the file list keyboard focus
The primary reason I thought of this is to provide some configurable way to get from the search field to the file list in a single keyboard stroke/shortcut.
Currently I have to press tab three times.
An action to give the file list focus is maybe the most configurable approach. I understand this might be a bit tricky/messy/restricted given a text field would have focus at the time, but hopefully it's possible.
Thanks!

Playrate Bug
Playing back items with playback rate slower (Example 0.2) causes clicks. But if i render the same item and play its fine. I also tried changing the playback resample mode. In all the modes it is causing clicks. It also happens when I slow down in media explorer. This wasn't the case a few releases before. I am not able to point out when this has changed. But it certainly wasn't the case before. Can you pls looking that ?
I am on Mac OS 10.15.5
3.6Ghz 6 Core Intel Xeon E5
64 GB 1866 Mhz DDR3
Its very obvious on strong sounds like explosion

So what is really useful in Windows Explorer:
1. You see, which file you hover over.
2. You can tick multiple files and paste them into project.
3. You can open file properties.
FR: please allow us to navigate quicker like in Windows Explorer/Total commander.
It is wasting of space. It should look like in 6.12(below).

Since you are on this , you might consider this:
Quote:
There is a modifier missing to fully make the cake complete for loop section:
We should be able to move loop section contents according to snap, and we have have only the non snapping version of the modifier. Both complement!

Tab moves focus to the next field which is very good.
Up/Down arrows should move focus to the prev/next line.

Menus in ME are getting messier and messier.
Could they be ordered/worded more similar to standard Explorer menus?

Edited unwritten metadata color should probably not be blue since blue is usually associated with information. For a warning, it should be orange or so. And blue is the most difficult color to differentiate from black.

Ctrl+tab on windows, opt+tab on mac moves up/down. Arrows make more sense though.

Will it be added Area Selection to selected items? May be Time Selection to Area Selection? Auto crossfades when Split items at Area Selection?
Thanks!

Just a notice:
One thing which is really handy on mac , and i think on windows there is something similar which i don't remember, in finder in a file listing,
- if we press CMD + Up Key it will go to parent folder (indepentently of being a file or folder selected),
- if we press CMD + Down key and if is a file selected then it will open the file preview (in reaper probably could play the file or check properties ... i don't know)
- if we press CMD + Down key and if a folder is selected then it opens the folder.
I think it's a good concept to introduce in Media Explorer

AS: If including the beginning of the item, won't delete area.

AS: Duplicate (with Trim Items Enabled) creates layers rather than replacing -- but only after a couple of Undos.

Only just started forcing myself to use the in built media explorer again so will report on any issues with it over the next week of work etc
One thing that would be handy for us people who like to have it always open (but docked and quite narrow) would be if there could be a pop when hovering over any file that shows what it in the media source properties pop up.
or..
If that source properties could be kept open and dock it would be useful.

Also.
I know we can drag and drop multiple files into say windows file explorer but there are many situations whereby this would actually need to be using either a right click copy (or also "control+C").
This is because not only does reaper jump to the front of the screen when dragging (therefore hiding the windows explorer) but also there are some apps where they will take a general "paste" command into them but not the drag and drop OR, you might not be quite ready to paste yet (as adding another folder child in first etc).
This is used a lot in sound design for games when moving files around.
Thanks.

I can't reproduce either of those problems. Could you possibly post or email a sample project?

Hi! I cut the project down to just the offending tracks. All the same behaviours I showed in the GIFs are present in this .RPP.
The duplication bug happens if you highlight the first bar (as I demonstrated), hit Ctrl-D a bunch, Ctrl-Z to undo them, Ctrl-D...eventually it starts happening.
The deletion bug happens with Mouse Modifier & straight-up hitting Delete.
Let me know if I can do anything further. Thanks!

And I'll add...it's not just on these two tracks, I was working on a big project today and doing duplications/deletions and noticing both behaviours randomly. These tracks just so happen to be the ones where I narrowed down the problem reproduceably.
