Default Quick Razor Edit Question...

Once you select an area of an item with the razor edit too, how can you separate that selection so that it's now a separate item?

I swear I've been learning REAPER for a couple months now, have a ton of things customized to the way I want to work, and the biggest thing holding me back (after being in PT and Cubase for ages) is learning to do simple edit functions.

That and next hurdle is learning automation ...just ...basic automation in REAPER. Any pointers appreciated!

Default

Preferences > Mouse modifiers > Context: Razor edit area - left click.
Check which modifier is assigned to "split media items at area edges"

I believe its the SHIFT key by default.

Sidenote: Would be neat to have "create razor edit area and split at area edges" in the Mouse modifiers.
So you could create a razor edit area over item(s) and when you let go of the mouse button the item(s) are split at the area edges.
