Default Linux: Global keyboard shortcuts w/ plugin window focus (issue)

Hola linux reaper users.

Having recently switched out of the Windows matrix there are many things I don't know about linux reaper. (Current distro: Debian Buster)

Most notably and most importantly global keyboard shortcuts. Internal provided plugins from REAPER work great with global keyboard shortcuts. But the external plugins(linux VST2) when its window, more specifically its plugin gui area, is focused by clicking on them and turning knobs global keyboard shortcuts that I have set to 'mute', 'unmute all', 'solo' and even Escape key does not work to to close the window.

Through some trouble shooting I have found that the state of the window does not matter whether the window is docked, it's a floating fx window or it's a floating fx chain window. Weird thing is that even if I unfocus the plugin area by clicking on the window title bar or the fx chain list on the left side the shortcuts still does not work. I must click on the main window arrangement area for it to work again.

Now for the users of reaper on linux, if you use global keyboard shortcuts and you got it working with external linux native VSTs, please share with us your method.

Thank you and peace!

Do you mean VST3? I don't have global shortcuts set up like you, but I did notice this:

If playback start/stop (with the spacebar, by default) is affected, and it's a JUCE-based VST3 plugin, we're probably talking about the same thing. I guess if JUCE is used to make VST2 plugins as well, that could be a part of it.
