I haven't got any plugins on Mac, but I'll give it a test run anyways.

One thing I like about OSX, it boots up on my iMac in 23 seconds...way faster then my XP.

Not much free stuff though...

Default thanks

i use both a pc (vegas-audition-sound forge...and really like reaper) and a mac (use for photoshop-final cut)... reaper on a mac is a godsend ... not a big fan of logic or "slow tools"...Soundtrack is ok but looking forward to trying the beta this eve ...

hello Justin,

today i was mixing with the mac preview build.
after saving the project and then quit, reaper crashes.
i reopen and load the saved project, and crash.

maybe this is related to pluggo, since i am using
colortone from tritone digital in this project.
so after i delete the path to the vst plugins
in the preferences, the project loads up fine.

just wanted to let you know.
i really enjoy reaper so far!
looking forward to the next update!

best,
Oliver

I use hibernate in Windows instead of shutdown most of the times. Great time-saver.

Default v0.15 is up!

http://reaper.fm/files/reaperosx-0.15U.dmg

Notes: Requires G4/G5 or Intel Mac, OS X 10.4.x.

Changes: not much new since the last preview builds, except brought up to speed with the Windows version (performance improvements, smooth seeking, better zoomed in view, etc etc).

The next version should have more of the dialogs in place (including Render and record format choosing etc etc).

Justin,

I want to say thanks so much.
You may not realize how big this will be for macs.. I think there are tons of people waiting for this that aren't making a lot of noise too. GREAT JOB!

Just downloaded this after reading about it on the grid on www.dogsonacid.com.

It looks amazing, I'm about to give it a thorough workout on my G5 PPC and report back if it crashes.

Nice one

Hi,

I have tried to use some plugins.
I know that Reaper is in alpha stage but perhaps that it could help ?

- all the plugins made with Sonicbirth don't show their interface but they work

- the Wave Arts Masterverb gui shows the controls but not the background and the controls cannot be move.

- the Arturia CS80 flashes.

- the plugins made with Max/Msp (Pluggo, Hypno) and the "Carbon MDA Effects" don't appear at all in the list of plugins (yes, they are in the same folder).

- the Tassman Keys Edition makes Reaper quit.

- plugins that seem to show and run well : Albino, Crystal, Quikquak Rayspace, SFX Machine RT

Tested on a MacMini G4, 10.4.8.

Justin, I think it would be a great idea to update the link at the first post so that anyone who opens this thread would see where the Mac developement is at the moment without going thru the posts to find the latest link.

EDIT: Oh my god that guy is fast!

I have been messing around with this for a while now on my iBook G4 without any problems. The only stuff I run into trouble with is the stuff that's not in yet. I haven't actually tried loading any of my PC reaper projects yet, only creating new ones to toy with. Great Job Justin! I can't wait to see a full version.

Wow. Great stuff.

I got Albino, Crystal and FreeG to load GUIs, but I can't get the synths to fire, since i don't see any midi editing functions available. Can't wait.

Also, the metronome flams when playing over a looped set of whole bars. That is, I'm getting what sounds like a click at 2.0.1, even if I have the loop selection snapped to whole bars and have only selected bar 1.

small stuff for now to be sure.

Hi,

I'm currently a Pro Tools user (LE 7.1, 1.9ghz G5 w/1gb RAM, 10.4.8), but this is definitely looking interesting. I can't wait to try this out. The only thing holding me back is my RTAS plugins, but I'm sure I'll manage.

I'll be giving it a go soon, for sure!

I just wanted to thank you for the Mac support! Once I get it installed, I'd be glad to offer any feedback that you might want (bugs, crash info, or just praise lol). It's great to see a developer in the DAW arena actually making software not only from feedback from the users, but at such a ridiculously affordable price!

Best of luck!

Just booted into 10.4 just to check it out. This looks really promising, I'm exited to see this ported to OS X. Played arround a bit and no obvious errors/crashes.

I've read your post concerning <10.4 compatability problems but nonetheless here's another vote for putting 10.3.9 support high on the todo list. I won't upgrade anytime soon & I'd love to use (and test!) reaper

Default please support audio units

Hi,

I've been running reaper on my macbook pro today and it's smooth sailing. I'd like to second the request for Audio Units support. I think this would be very important for many mac owners/users

for example, anybody using Line6 GearBox plugins gets VST on PC and AU on mac. No VST on mac and, according to L6, it will never happen. And while they are not the best plugins they are pretty happenin' for the price and lots of people are, and will be, using them in the future.

Thanks!

we are planning on supporting AU.

The next build coming (sometime this month) should have basic MIDI hardware support, and maybe a preliminary version of the MIDI editor, too.

would it be possible at some point to get a separate mac/reaper board so that massive confusion re. builds and bugs between the two platforms is avoided and also add the mac version to the download page?

Thanks.

I'll be buying reaper as soon as the OSX version catches up. I do lots of audio interviews for radio and video and Reaper is already great for editing them. If the midi side improves, then I'd happily use it for that too!

Thanks Justin,
nice additions in this version.

unfortunately our only export function from
the last build (Save live output to disk) is no longer working!
any chance to bring it back?

For me (G4, 10.4.8) these two plugs like some other VSTs are GUIless, only a white empty window (see my previous post).
If the Arrange window is closed, New and Open is not available : is this normal ?
