Default plug-in to get low frequencies to mono up to certain HZ.

Hi!

Is there a plug-in in Reaper where you can choose which frequencies (in my case the lows) you can switch to mono?

The thing I want to do:

I have 2 rhythm synths, A channel per synth, 1 panned hard left 1 panned hard right. Both go to a bus. On that bus I do eq for both together. Would like to be able mono this up to 110HZ anything about should stay stereo. Is there a plug-in for this?

Thanks!

try JS 4 Band Spliter

Edit: Forgot to mention that you have to use the PIN connector , send the signal into different buses and then after doing that you need to mono the signal on the lower frequencies channel!

Or if you have iZotope 8 imager you just insert it on your bus and you use Band 1 to -100 width to make in center only above those chosen frequencies..

Klanghelm VUMT Deluxe is great for this. Not free but inexpensive for what it does.

JS: Stereo Enhancer will do it out of the box just set the crossover to the frequency you care about, then set the Width Low(%) to zero, leave Width High (%) as is.

Not a stock plugin but free, GVST's GMonoBass and GStereo, also "safe bass" function in A1 stereo imager might do the task.

That's exactly what I use. If I know a mix is destined for vinyl, I'll sum everything below 250Hz on stereo content. Better I take care of it within the mix than have the cutting engineer apply it to the entire mix.

Tokyo Dawn SlickEQ M does that as a small part of the many things it does.

This special filter originates from the vinyl cutting process and is
some-times called an “Elliptical filter”. It increasingly reduces the stereo width towards low frequencies.
This is not to be confused with the Elliptic filter, an alternative description of Cauer filters (which really don’t have many uses in audio).

There are so many JS plugins I haven't used yet despite being a REAPER user for around a decade now. Thanks for the tip on this one Karbo. This will be very useful.

In addition to JS:Stereo Enhancer, you can add JS: witti/MS_only_mid_side to the monitor effects chain plus your favorite frequency analyzer. This way you can hear and see what Stereo Enhancer is doing.

Until I just learned about the JS: Stereo Enhancer...I've used TP Basslane for years. It has a nice GUI, and it's free.

I use Klanghelm VU but it's not free (tho inexpensive) or
http ://www.alexhilton.net/A1AUDIO/index.php/a1stereocontrol which is free

The trance gate on the same site is also really good if you're into that kinda thing

Here's a free VU meter plug in (32 bit or 64 bit) will mono out below a user chosen freq. Works well.. more options than you need maybe.

A quick and dirty method would be to send your synth bus, post fader, to another track and make that mono by double-clicking the pan knob. Insert a low pass EQ and cut everything above your desired frequency. On the synth bus you can EQ out the low end and than mix in your mono track.

---now I'm thinking if "pan" is pre or post? ...anyways ..you can try it
