Default VSTi help needed

How do you get VSTi's to work? In cubase you load an instrument play the midi keyboard and it works but I can't get any sound from reaper. I can record the midi data but have no idea how to hear the VSTi. I've checked the manual and the forums but failed to find the answer. I know it will be something silly that I've missed but I'm stumped for the moment so help would be appreciated.

Hello 13thMagician and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information.

Did you add a VSTi to the track? See the User Guide, sections 2.18, 3.27 ad others.

If not, can you describe what you have done so far. That way we can help you more.

Default Thankyou

I checked all the links you listed and found nothing new. According to the information it should work. As it should have worked I decided to uninstall then reinstall Reaper this didn't solve the problem. I figured windows might require a restart after the reinstall and sure enough everything now works as it should. Thanks for the help it allowed me to confirm that the settings were OK.
