I'm using take volume envelope, splitting or using ripple delete make the envelope jump to the top or bottom where in previous versions it would be unaffected. Actions to alter envelope segment are also misbehaving on items.

I'm not quite following the bug report, sorry.

When you split a curved segment, REAPER does its best to match the resulting segments with some kind of bezier curve, but there will be cases where the match is better than others, and some cases where the match isn't very good.

And now I can see right from the recarm button if the track is ready to record or just armed (to monitor).

What are these for ?
track_recarm_norec.png
track_recarm_auto_norec.png
We have Record: Disable (Input monitoring only)
What else ?

between v5.965+dev1231 and v5.965+dev0112a something happened to item envelopes.
in the gif you see the take volume envelope jumps to max after splitting? that never happened before.
I can't reproduce in a clean project right now but I was editing all day friday and saturday without that problem, updated pre version and ran into the issue several times on Sunday. I didn't change any actions, mouse modifiers, envelope options or preferences.

Concerning the action list: did something change here?
I remember, when opening the action list in the MIDI Editor, the section "MIDI Editor" was automatically selected in the popdown menu. However, now, always the "Main" section opens.

Hm, have to investigate where this comes from, maybe a preference...
Found a bug, though:
When moving an item the vertical and horizontal guidelines are shown.
But, when you copy an item with the mouse, only the vertical guidelines appear:

Not a bug, just never implemented, pretty sure others asked for similar changes, but all they got was...
v5.91pre4 - May 29 2018
+ Guides: option to not draw horizontal guides when moving items

I see...
Well, for the sake of consistency it would definitely make sense to make this work for copying items, as well.

New track control panel (tcp) recarm images. They will get used when the track is record armed, but recording is disabled.

Images of those names--but without "norec" in the name--already exist in the themes. It's just a matter of trying the different modes to realize why those images exist (and why extra images with "norec" would need to exist in this case too). You probably don't use Reaper yet in this particular way so you wouldn't notice.

Thanks for the explanation but I don't see what the two images are for.
If track_recarm_norec.png is for the Record: disable (input monitoring only) mode (is it ?) then what is the auto one for ?
track_recarm_auto_norec.png
I use my own theme but tried the default theme and arm stays red for every mode.

1) Yes it is.
2) That file is for the option "automatic record-arm when track selected". (And the "norec" version is for recording disabled.)
It seems the "norec" images aren't yet in the default themes. The ability to have them recognized for that function however is now there. I made some for my own edited theme to test it.
