bcf2000 (YES I know it's been discussed)

Hey guys,
I know there are already endless guides on here on how to set it up .
BUT no matter what I do I still don't see the bcf in the control surfaces window - it's recognised as a midi device though.

So with all the guides I'm not getting past step 1, I can only activate it as amidi device. And my pc does recieve midi from it without problems - checked already in midiox. updated all the drivers and firmware too.

Any Ideas?

EDIT: apparently ableton live recieves the bcf.
but in reaper when I want to choose a control surface all i get is an empty box

normally there should be no problem at all.
you connect the bfc - windows recognizes it and ready to roll.No matter if XP vista or 7 32 and 64 bit.
It should appear in Reaper.
Did you check out a different usb cable? Some cables wont work fine.
Or other USB port?

Tried other usb-ports same result. Haven't tried different cable yet, but I mean it wouldn't recognise bfc at all if there was a usbproblem wouldn't it? And I downloaded ableton just to test it and it worked.....
All I see in the surface controls is in the screenshot below.

oh yeah and i use win xp, and reaper 2.58 (tried it with the newer one as well but no difference) if that helps.

hi -

not sure how to ask this but - do you know its a drop-down box in the screenshot right?

that drop down box should contain the list of supported control surfaces.
once selected you'll see another window where you can select the in and out ports.

if thats not working, strange things are happening, and i'd panic.
maybe the csurf.dll (or similar name) is broken/missing, if you install v3 install reaper to a different location to check.

Yeah but its empty, 0 , nothing, nada...so could it be a some kind of graphical error? would be likely as the reaper is recieving midi from it perfectly.

EDIT:

Reinstalled again (after the first uninstal deleted everything besidesmy rpp and wav's) and god bless IT'S WORKING!!

Strange shit. This should go in the reaper bugs or whatever, really no idea how and where it came from but you I could click the dropbox a 100 times and wouldn't see anything. That's why I figured out it has something to do with the bcf!
