Default Pod Farm..."No Authorized Device".

I wasnt sure exactly where to post this, so, I just went with Reaper General Discussion.

Anyways, I just purchased line 6's ux2, which came with Pod Farm, and I got the plug-in into the fx folder in Reaper.

But, I'm getting this message...

"No Authorized Device

A required device is either not authorized, or not connected.

Pod Farm's GUI will operate during this session, but the plug-in will not process audio.

Please connect your ilok or line 6 hardware, and restart the application".

Can anyone help me fix this problem? The ux2 is plugged in. I don't know why it would be giving me this message...

I even thought maybe it was because I had to register the ux2 first...so I did. And all THAT did was line 6 sent me and email thanking me for registering my ux2, and asking me to "try" guitar port online.

So, anyone know what could possibly be going wrong??

The plug in shows when I click on the "fx" button on a track, but then, as I said, I recieve the message above...

I tried going on Line 6's website for help, but this is all I get...

http://line6.com/community/community/support/

So that is useless. This is really frustrating...anyone that can help, I would REALLY appreciate it, as, I was (and still am) VERY excited I got the ux2, but, this is just really frustrating.

Make sure you have installed the Line 6 Monkey, then be sure you have installed the 'driver' for the UX2 installed.

It sounds to me like the driver isn't installed.

What is the "Line 6 monkey"? (I'm really new to this, so, please bear with me)...all I did was insert the pod farm disc, and, install it.

I really appreciate it, if you could explain how to check/do both of these things, step by step.

Much appreciation. This is my first time using the ux2/pod farm, so, im really in the dark about it.

Do you think this might have anything to do with it?

That is OLD, so I would think, it doesn't apply, but then again, it may. If that's the case, I don't know how to "update" Pod Farm.

Under your start menu (I presume you're using Windows) you should find a folder for Line 6, and there will be an app called "Line 6 Monkey". Run it, sign in to your account and follow any instructions there. You will probably need to update the software if you just got it on CD. You may also have to activate it too, that should be on one of the cards you got with the hardware.

Line 6 uses their hardware as a dongle (like PT LE). Make sure your hardware is connected via the USB port.

What Joel said above and install Line 6 Monkey. Monkey will help recognize and authorize the device (via USB) with the Pod Farm software.

Here is the link. Just choose UX2 > Line 6 Monkey > Your OS

http://line6.com/software/

You may also need to create a user account @ line 6 to log Monkey into the website but I cannot remember if that is a requirement.

As others have said you need to install and or run Line6 Monkey whilst connected to the internet and your Line6 device plugged in.
Then if you haven't already make an account with the Line6 with a username and password. Then when you log in inside Monkey you go to the Additional add-ons tab and highlight what you have etc and then click the,"Authorize" button.

Remember also depending on the deal you got there are two versions of Podfarm. The standalone version and the VST version.I only have the standalone version which means I cannot use the VST version but I have no need of it.
