Can't find it either.

We'll do the media explorer next. BTW, we did update the template translation on lol, too.

A little nitpick here:

Quote:
;4E4097A9208AB4D1=Create audio peak/waveform display data files only when manually selecting the menu item options/peaks/build peaks.
But it should say:

Quote:
;4E4097A9208AB4D1=Create audio peak/waveform display data files only when manually selecting the menu item item/peaks/build peaks.
... cos you find the menu item in "Item" not in "Options".

Never mind.

True, once upon a time there was no Item menu...

Found another one:

Quote:
D9BA821AF303DAE3=When increasing the size of the toolbar or floating toolbar, don't allow buttons to be drawn smaller than the size of their underlying theme images.
7EDB59D22DAF56A6=When increasing the size of the toolbar or floating toolbar, don't allow buttons to be drawn larger than the size of their underlying theme images.
I know, this is somewhat ridiculous, but as I'm sitting here, trying to translate these things and see it...

Maybe just writing "changing" would do.

Yet another quite irritating one:

If at "Preferences -> Appearance" the mouse hovers over "Horizontal grid lines in automation lanes", the help text says
Quote:
Enable gradients (transitions between two colors) on certain backgrounds.
The hash used is 97A10AF7C1995A5A, but the hash that should be used is FEF64939D5DC280B or vice versa i.e. the stings have to be exchanged. Dunno.
I, for now, exchanged the hashes. Is that correct?

Another issue:

The option "Draw vertical text bottom-up" seems to do nothing here; neither on vertical tabs, nor in the Routing/Grouping window.

Well, I'm a bit embarrassed, bothering you with such nitpicky things, but on the other hand I think it can also help to correct things, as we're at it so to say, in the US-English version.

So here goes again:

In "Appearance -> Peaks/Waveforms" we have the entry "Only display peaks for selected tracks", but the help string says
Quote:
A94567A489A953BF=Only draw peaks for selected media items.

Extreme nitpick:

Section [cpumeter]:

REAPER uses this string

09BBE5E5E0F096DA=effect

for '0' effect' (should be 7ADE4E9D38D0012B)

Edit: strings for "recently used" and "favorites" in the FX browser are missing. So is the "Video Window" in 'View'.

Default Localization into Polish is ready

I just finished translation into Polish language (all 51,331 words).

Some comments on translation:
- Localized file was NOT tested by me in Reaper. I would like to leave this task to other Polish users. I believe that it is always a poor idea to review ones' own work.
- Translation is made accordingly to localization standards for Polish.
- "Common" strings and strings commented with ;^ were all translated due to the process used. This will allow for prompt updates however.
- Translated strings are around 40% longer (on average) then English ones. This is expected, Polish differs significantly from English. It might result in strings clipping however, until developers would resize the UI items as needed.
- Terminology/translation improvement suggestions are welcome.

Existing, but ignored strings:

Section [explorer]
------------------
89440B8014C901E6 and
11456A4D80ECCB83

seem to be ignored.

^^FIXED

Entire
section [DLG_185] too
-----------------

Parts of section

[MENU_349] ; IDR_TOOLBARCTX
---------------------------

is not being processed too, as well.

Missing strings:

[Track performance options]
---------------------------
String for "enable track metering" is missing

fxbrowser:
----------

Strings for "recently used" and "favorites" are missing.

View:
-----
So is the "Video Window" in 'View'.

'Width-percentage'-tooltip:
----------------------------
Not there. "Width" was used to debunk German spies who passed the "squirrel" test.

Render:

These are all missing:

Virtual MIDI keyboard:
----------------------

"Send all keyboard input to...." missing

Oh, and...

[missfile] (Umlauts)
----------

Default Garbled characters in ReaVerb "Open (file)" dialog

Strings seem to come from different sections (misc, midi). Some were not present in template file.
Strings within red rectangles contain corrupt extended characters.

Default UTF-8 on Project Directory Cleanup

I posted this on the wrong post. I think this is related with this situation:

"Hi Dev Team,

This is my first post, and there is something that is common to previous versions.

There is no support to UTF-8 on the Project Directory Cleanup.

Original Text is:

"01-Corra para os Braços do Pai - Copy.mp3"
"Quem manda é você 05 - Copy.mp3"

Can you fix it?

Thanks!
"

These strings don't display properly after translation (it doesn't apply):

preferences helps:

Default Invisible string due to font color

String F62DF20B45D1562B seems to be invisible (when using default 3.x theme at least)

Got a question here.

at

Code:
765D6DBC6F3FA990=Transport: apply playrate to current bpm (no reset playrate)
81593262996CC7F3=Transport: apply playrate to current bpm
To my understanding it seems to be the exact opposite.
Changing the playrate and then running these actions, BPM is applied to the actual playrate, but not the playrate to BPM.

E.g.: Setting playrate to .5 while having BPM set to 120 and then triggering one of the actions, BPM is set to 60.

What am I getting wrong here (yet again )?

To do a correct translation, this is important.

Bump! Confirmed on OSX 10.7.3. Some people have made great efforts in translating things and feel disapointed (<- just voicing the the concern of several foreign users)

We have a problem here with the following:

The first two items of the red framed rolldown look the same although they of course don't do the same thing. There is no reasonable way to translate this unless we'd use some questionable abbreviations that wouldn't make clear at a glance what they mean (which in fact means, this wouldn't be reasonable either). It would look like a kludge. But the green marked range at the right hand side of the rolldown seems to be unused.

Would it be possible to widen the rolldown to close the gap and use the unused space? This would solve our problem and make some German users happy, 'cos this way it isn't possible to distinguish between "left click" and "left drag".

EDIT:

Here is a mockup, done with the help of AHK, that again shows what it looks like and how it could (i.e. should) look. The rolldown is widened to 144 pixels.

Although this isn't the problem, even the string in the button on the right hand side of the rolldown wouldn't need to be abbreviated. It is widened by 20 pixels and shifted left by 10. We try to avoid unnecessary abbreviations wherever possible, because it makes the text less good (and in some cases literally un-)readable and does by all means not look "professional".

It would really be a great help to have this changed.

No Miche. As I see it you're in the correct thread for this type of issue.

I've one of the same kind here:

[DLG_142] ; IDD_MISSINGFILEPROMPT in German looks like this, which I personally find quite funny:

But it should look like this:

Also, if the rolldown would be wider, i.e. the space on the right hand side of it would be used, the string "Jede übereinstimmende Datei (am schnellsten)" wouldn't be cut in the display. In the mockup the width is extended to 212 pixels.

Just a question out of pure curiosity: Why do all these umlaut-errors have to be fixed one by one, instead of one fix for all cases?

I hope so! There are some huge problems but none has been fixed since 3 months

I think so. A lot of those umlaut-issues have been dealt with and fixed using this very thread.

To post the same in the other thread again wouldn't be good behavior, I suspect.

I haven't done much translating the past 3 months as well. Maybe that's why....

... just kidding.
