Default EEL : Peak View Gain

currently REAPER have no action for max/min peak view gain. clicking toolbar or hitting shortcut one at a time could be very tedious to get the max/min peak view.

you could set up custom macro and stack or loop each action step to increase or decrease the peak view gain, but depending on the media item sources on each project would require different step for viewing max/min.

so, here it goes

drag the slider slowly the get the maximum/minimum increment/decrement value

Small update : 15-Dec-2015 18:15
  • while the script window in focus. press UP arrow for max. and press DOWN arrow for min.
Requirement REAPER 5.1

Installation is very simple
  • Copy to your ~REAPER path/Scripts/...
  • Load the the script from Action List

DOWNLOAD from stash

Happy zoooooming!

JRENG!

Thanks to spk77, for GUI slider code i borrowed.

Awesome, many thx ! But would be great if you could do the peak view gain only for selected item(s) ..

Just my 2 cents.

REAPER peaks view gain is global. it is stored in *.RPP. one value only per project.

IMO that's the way it should be

it would be confusing to have multiple peak value for each individual item, because we can't differentiate visually which item were gain increased by peak view or real volume gain. because they look similar. especially on large project.

Very useful man! Great script! This has always been something that really annoyed me in REAPER. Not anymore!

What's the difference between this script and using a hotkey to adjust view gain?

It's neater :P
And I always forget which hotkey it is and spend more time looking for it.

All in all I'd prefer some slider next to the scroll bar like cubase (I think) but I might have exagerated in the "really annoy" part. Can we settle for annoy? :P

shortcut just do min and max. slider help us to stop at certain levels. since we don't always need to see everything maximised. and but we can, jump straight to max, either reset to minimum anytime.

I don't agree with this at all. I used the feature of object-specific peak zoom all the time in Samplitude.

My favourite is putting it on Shift mousewheel

Custom: Adjust peaks view gain (mouse).
