Default Updating REAPER from 6.63 clears favorites in Media Explorer (FIXED)

How to reproduce:
- Have portable installation 6.63 installed
- Go to media explorer and mark a few audio samples as favorites (so that there's a dot in the favorites column
- Now upgrade this installation to 6.67 (also happened with 6.66)
- All favorites that were marked are gone. What is expected is for the favorites to stay as has been the case for all updates before now.

My understanding is that favorites are stored in the MetadataCache folder, so I tested by restoring this folder to the state before the update, and this did not return my favorites. I tried this 2 times with 2 methods and favorites were not effected. This makes very little sense as I'm almost positive that this is where file metadata including favorites is stored, because I can see that this folder updates whenever I mark a sample as a favorite.

Info:
Windows 10 Home 10.0.19044
REAPER Portable 6.63

Hm, yes, when an upgrade adds a new field to the Media Explorer, filesystem caches that were created with an older version of REAPER are rebuilt. We should be able to change this so existing user-added data is preserved.

Ah that explains it. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to a fix.
