Default Randomize time factor looping audio clips

Greetings,

I have a few dozen short ambient sounds of a cafe that I would like to mix together to make a 30 minute clip. The sounds include general background, chatting, chairs moving, utensels, etc.

- The "general background" is pretty easy as I will just paste a bunch of clips together.

- The 24 short clips are more difficult. They are just a few seconds long each. I am thinking of running 24 tracks with repeating loops in Reaper.

- I would like to have the 24 tracks automatically repeat with a certain level of randomness. Is it possible to add some "random silence function" at the end of each track?

_____

Fabric seems to have a "silent component" that does something similar.

The Tapestrea software from Princeton seems perfect for this but is just too buggy. Two days and I throw in the towel. It has some functions like:

* density (times repeated per minute)
* periodicity (how fixed the time intervales are)
* gain, frequency, length, panning, randomness, etc.

Hi

I dont understnd what random silence is but for looping you can take a look in my script
which creates seamles loops from selected items and time selection ;

You have also access to various randomize functions in Reapack like randomize envelope value or things items properties like pan.

Maybe it can be a start for you.
