Default Render stems with track names

Hello,

I'd like to request a change in rendering naming, so that when stems are rendered each carries name of the track it was on. basic feature. Thank you.

Click that Wildcards button in the Render dialog, man.

Would be great if you first checked if something was already possible before requesting (manual, youtube), y'know

Type $track into the name box when rendering.

Default stem rendering by specific track name tags

I have been searching forums about specific stem rendering.
but out of luck

Although, there is a very specific thing I am trying to achieve.

Just say I had a sub-master parent track called " # Kik Drums "
and all of its contained tracks within this.
I also have another parent track called " # Snare Drums "
and all of its various child tracks within this parent track.
And so on..

Now, its time for me to render out the stems, but very specific stems only.

I only want to stem render any tracks containing the specific " # "
in the track name and NOT any other tracks .
Of coarse , the child tracks of the Parent will still be rendered if the parent contained a " # " for example.

So it would effectively stem render :
# Kik Drums
# Snare Drums
# Poly Keys
etc......

I am sure it's possible, I just have not figured it out yet.

Yes, I know all about matrix rendering, and that is how I am doing it
but....... a specific script/ action that I could create to do this specific task would be gold to me !! I can pay someone ;-)

One way would be to open ReaConsole (needs SWS extensions installed) and type "S #*" (without quotes) there, this exclusively selects all tracks starting with"#". Then you could render selected tracks as stems.

Oh that gave me an idea. Thank you kindly !!

Ok , I now have a short cut key that :
selects all tracks with hash tag in name and to select them in the matrix ready for stem region rendering ( using one region selection for rendering multiple tracks )

First, go to cycle actions / create action in here

called "Select all hash tag tracks to region matrix "
in cycle name ( no toggle )
Enter under command
: CONSOLE S #*

Apply , Save
Go to action list edit, create a new custom action,
call it "HASH TAG track name to region matrix select" or whatever
Add the cycle action you just created ( as above )
Add , Region render matrix: add selected tracks to render list for all regions
Save this custom action then assign a short cut key
( mine was Ctrl + SHIFT + F10 )

This work perfectly , that is assuming the tracks you want to render
only have the "#" somewhere in the name. otherwise you must remove any name containing the hash tag , that is not to stem render !

To render track names as stems:
1) Choose "Selected tracks (stems)" for the Source (upper left).
2) Use the "$track" wildcard for the file name.
