Rotary control (knob) in REAPER extensions

Hi,

Could anyone offer any advice, or point me to any code, as to how to implement rotary controls (knobs) in a REAPER C++ extension?

The only example I can find is in SWS Live Configs, but I can't separate the rotary control handling from the rest of the code.

I guess there a very few people with this sort of knowledge, and that they have too many demands on their time to answer every query.
