Default Help! Reaper not seeing my midi drivers !

I just switched from Win7 / 64 to Windows 8.1

Everything has worked, including my Lynx audio interface / drivers, except that Reaper doesn't see any of my midi hardware. (For instance, my Roland RD driver)

The drivers are installed, (I have an 8.1 compatible Roland driver) and I can see them in the device manager, but nothing shows in Reaper's preferences.

This is a huge problem.

Any ideas?

-thanks

Bump/

No ideas?

I'm also now seeing problems on 8.1 with some older 32-bit plugins. Reaper simply doesn't see them.

Is Win8.1 known to have problems like this?

Interesting.

How do you specifically install an app as administrator? I thought you could ONLY install an application if you're the administrator.

I also thought that if you're the only user, you are always the administrator. Has this changed in WIn8?

yes im sure win 7 does it win 8 and 8.1 definately do by default even if you are the only user certain files and directories are protected by default even from install programs.

during installation right click on the install icon you should see an option to run as admin
