Default The Final Wave - Eighties rock-ish track done mainly with free instruments/FX

This is my new track, an eighties inspired power-ballad kinda rock track. Of course done with Reaper and mainly free plugin instruments and FX.

Instruments used:

- Tyrell N6
- Synth1
- Ragnarok
- The Deputy
- DeadDuck E-Piano
- Revitar
- SSDS-5

... and loads of FX, I'm happy to share FX-chain information for specific parts of the song.

Sounds great. I had a studio full of first gen midi synths back in the 80s and this sounds just like the kind of stuff we were doing with all the synths back then. It does sound like there are a couple of spots where the timing gets a little loose, but it still sounds great.

Yep, timing is a bit loose but that's on purpose. I don't like to edit everything up to the millisecond as I rather like that 'live' vibe There are a few other minor things, particularly in the vocals but I decided to leave those because I really liked the sound of the takes I had.

Thanks SmajjL.... and no, I'm not going to do a A-ha cover

This track was the first done in my new studio and with a lot of new plugins and production techniques/tricks that I'm learning. Still tweaking a few things, so a (very slightly) better mix will come sometime soon
