At the moment - no. I don't have that issue. I select New Project from an unsaved project - choose don't save - and Stripper either blanks itself (if running) - or loads blank when I open Stripper.
So is it always the last session that remains when you select New Project? Or is it always the same? I think you're stating that it is always parts of the last session still left behind?
BTW - I just fixed a couple of related bugs which could cause crashes when selecting a new project (without closing the last project).

Exactly! When opening a new project, lbx stripper always shows me what was last visible in lbx stripper in the previously open project.

Any chance of a GIF/video showing from when you open Reaper, add some plugins/tracks etc - to starting a new project?
I've tried every combination I can think of - and I don't get that result (although it has happened randomly in the past - I cannot get it to do it now).

Did you happen to save your Reaper 'Default.RPP' file with LBX loaded ?

Thanks - I've pretty much copied this exactly - and still don't get this happening.
Can you please send me your default rpp file (if you're using one) - I'll check it for Stripper data file references.
Or if you don't have a default rpp file - let me know.

Yes - try deleting the two LBX_STRIPPER_DATAFILE lines from it. Stripper will be loading these files (which will be related to the last unsaved project).
EDIT - that should prevent the strips being loaded - but the visibility of the strip browser and navigation bars etc will always restored whether you saved or not as these are global settings - not project ones.

hmm...
by deleting
Code:
LBXSTRIPPER_DATAFILE_DMDATA Strips/unnamed_project.lbxstripper__
the problem with the track corpses has been solved (the strip corpses are still there, because: ).
I had to leave
Code:
LBXSTRIPPER_DATAFILE Strips/unnamed_project.lbxstripper__
there. LBX Stripper otherwise starts in live mode.
Does this line correlate in any way with the option
[Global)Set Track/Strip (Page 1) To Dynamic Mode?
Edit:
Ok, I got rid of the strip corpses by adding a track to my default.rpp
thanks for your help

Glad you got it sorted. I think the main issue here is that it was linking to unnamed_project.lbx_stripper__.
If when you created the default project - you had saved it with a name while Stripper was running - Stripper would have linked to the <def proj name>.lbx_stripper datafile (not the unnamed temporary data file) when loading the default project - which would be set up exactly as created in when you saved the def project template.

how to hide the strip browser ?
how to avoid the original fx window popping up when adding an fx to LBX ?
What does the "dock" button do ?
I would give my kingdom for a simplified version of LBX like you have in Bitwig or Ableton.

Is there a way to make the stripper wider so it would fit my screen? I'm on 2560 x 1440 monitor.

Unfortunately no. Not without a lot of workarounds or rewrites unless Cockos increase the maximum size of a drawable bitmap in Reascript.
It's been requested many times on the forum - especially with the advent of large resolution screens.
Maybe add name to the feature request.
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=226894
Although there may be a workaround - but I haven't tested it for a while (and when I tried it before - it didn't work).

0 - hides strip browser
List of all key commands is linked to in the post 1.
Dock button docks the strip browser/snapshot window to top (sb)/right(snap) of window - or undocks it to floating.
I'm not likely to rewrite a simpler version - it would require another 3-4 years of work - probably starting from scratch so the code structure was less of a mess (what with all the tagged on features) I made some probably not ideal decisions when I started out - and to remain always backwards compatible I had to build on top of those decisions.

You only need that if you want to redefine some of the key commands.
But if so - it goes in the LBXCS_resources folder.

Not necessary, in my opinion, because DM is in a way a simplified mode, which is nevertheless very powerful!
It's definitely very impressive for a one-man script and code-cleaning is a thankless full-time job!
Thanks for your hard work, Leon!

Thanks. Analyzer plugin opens floating when I press ANALYZER button in DM mixer, how to make it open in the mixer itself?
Edit: Got it, right click on ANALYZER button, assing analyzer window script.

How do you mean floating? Can you show me an img of what you mean.
It always floats over the main Stripper window - because it is actually a floating window which has it's title and frame removed so it looks like it's part of the Stripper GUI - and then a script in the background copies the contents of the actual JSFX into this frameless window.
The actual JSFX GUI will be made visible and needs to float - but it should be behind the stripper window. Have you pinned it or something? Have you a strip associated with it which has been saved with the JSFX open?

Oh - and I forgot - the FX windows will float when you insert a strip if the strip was saved with the GUI open. Simply edit the offending strips - close the plugin GUI - and resave.
I keep meaning to add an option to close the GUI's automatically when saving a strip - so they never pop up - just not got round to it yet.
Another option would be to have it scan the chunk data before it inserts the strip - and ensure it loads without the GUI open - but this would make the strips load slightly slower (although it would probably be barely noticeable for most plugins).

Use this script:
Code:
function run()
gfx.update()
c = gfx.getchar()
if c > 0 then
reaper.ShowConsoleMsg(tostring(c)..'\n')
end
if c ~= 27 then
reaper.defer(run)
else
gfx.quit()
end
end
gfx.init("- LBX KeyCodes -", 100, 100, 0, 100, 100)
run()
Run script - then press keys - the keycode will appear in the console window.

Leon, I have a small request. Should be easy to fix.
It's about the pins that stick once the analyzer track is created.
Could you implement a toggle function that takes all 3 fx on the anayzer track offline if the analyzer tab in lbx stripper is not active and brings them back online when the analyzer tap is active?
that would solve the problem for the most part.
thank you

It's not quite that simple. If the GUI of the JSFX gets closed (which making them offline would) - then the link between the script that copies the GUI to the Stripper created window would be lost - and the script would have to eternally search for the window (by window title) - which is much more CPU intensive than having them running in the background. The problem is that when the GUI gets activated again - it has a different window ID - so a search through all open windows for the correct one is the only option.
I'll have a further think on it - I probably can improve it but it will take time as I've got a lot on at the moment. currently - the link needs to remain open - and the JSFX's get put into bypass and GUI's hidden (not closed!) - which prevents additional searching for the window.
I think the best thing to do currently is to remember to close the analyzers by clicking the Analyzer button - when you're not using it.

Bypassing or closing the anayzer doesn'tt solve the problem. the pins remain as long as the fx are online.
I have solved this in my workflow in the following way:
to remove the pins after using the analyzer
- I press the analyzer button.
- console command to select __LBX_ANALYZER track
- toggle all fx on selected track offline
to call up the analyzer again:
- console command to select __LBX_ANALYZER track
- toggle all fx on selected track online
- close all floating fx windows of the selected track
- I press the analyzer button
works perfectly. it is, however, cumbersome and it's error-prone if I don't follow the correct order
(execute action -> press analyzer button; or vice versa)..
@Skorobagatko: Now you know the custom toggle-action I use to remove the stuck pins

It's strange - I don't have that issue - as long as the pin is not pressed.
So with a pressed pin - the pin sits there visible ontop of Stripper GUI. I click the pin - it disappears (underneath) the Stripper window - not visible anymore.
I very rarely pin any plugins - so I guess this is why I generally don't see them.
I think when Reaper 6 was first released - the devs did a bit of work on the pins. I think the issue is that with the pin pressed - Reaper assumes the window is on top - so draws the pin above all other windows - however - Stripper forces the window underneath its GUI - so the pin appears detached from it's own window and on top of Stripper GUI.
But like I said - simply unpinning the pin if it is visible - and it goes away for me.
To be honest - I'd be quite happy to do away with the pin icon altogether - I so rarely use it. Wish there was an option to get rid of it.
EDIT:
Ah nuts - I see when a non-reaper window gets selected - those pesky pins show up whether pressed or not. However - for me they still disappear when you select a reaper window again.
This is still more a reaper issue though - as the pins shouldn't really be doing that (especially when unpinned). Although I admit - the Analyzer window thing is a massive hack to get it working the way it does.

Hmm... that's very strange indeed.
I only reopened this topic because Skorobagatko asked me how I solved the problem for myself.
For me it has no effect if a reaper window is selected or if the pins are pressed or not.
If after the spectrum analyzer another analyzer is selected, there are even 2 pins.
And these pins get stuck even if the LBX Stripper script is closed.
So for me there are only 3 possibilities to get rid of the pins:
- to set the 3 analyzer fx offline
- delete the __LBX_ANALYZER track
- close the reaper session
To be honest, I don't use the analyzer that often. So it's not a big deal for me if you don't have a quick fix.
The main thing is that you know about this problem, so when the script reaches v1.0, the problem should be solved

Think I've solved this
4096 x 4096 pixels max (could go bigger but this is ok for now).
Canvas size will also be 4096 x 4096 too .
Still needs a little work on a couple of things - but assuming nothing horrible becomes apparent - should be ready for the next update...
EDIT: Big thanks to Mespotine - (for a reply I missed some time ago).

Yep - working perfectly.
It's a bit hacky. The only way to have a bitmap > 2048 pixels is to load one from a file.
So I load a large bitmap (4096x4096) whenever a bitmap is required > 2048. The snag is that it takes longer to load than to generate one (generating one is not an option >2048) - but I ensure loading is minimal - so it only has to load each bitmap once and as long as you do not resize the GUI constantly so the bitmaps switch from < 2048 to > 2048 pixels - then it simply reuses the loaded ones.
The other (minor) downside - is that it uses more RAM - as even if I wanted a bitmap 2049x20 pixels - it would need to load up the huge 4096x4096 bitmap and just use the required bit of it - so a huge amount of wasted memory. But with todays typical RAM installations - it's pretty minor. Probably about 500Mb more than not using the 4096 bitmaps. But it's a price you have to pay.
Of course - it's coded so if you don't need the larger bitmaps - it won't use them - and will free up the RAM if you make the GUI smaller.
Very happy with the result - and performance is fine.
Will hopefully update later tonight or tomorrow.

Updated to allow unlimited GUI size (well up to 4096) - and surface size of 4096 pixels.
Takes slightly longer to start script - if this is annoying and you don't want > 2048 pixels (previous limit) - then you can disable in Settings->Appearance.
Only tested on Windows - would be interesting to hear if it works on Macs/Linux.
Please let me know of any bugs or weirdness - I had one strange bug with one particular internal bitmap that would keep corrupting when I changed its dimensions (even though I was completely redrawing it afterwards). I fixed it by changing the method of clearing it. Everything else has been fine - but as I don't know what caused that problem - would be good to know how it works on other systems.
Unfortunately - if Stripper is undocked - when you start it - the GUI will always default to max 2048 pixels wide - so you have to drag it out - this appears to be a gfx.init issue (could be wrong - but I'm passing in bigger numbers and it's not doing it).
However - by adding a location.txt file to the LBXCS_resources folder containing:
Code:
[x]949
[y]1080
[w]1520
[h]1080
[frameless]1
It will place Stripper at the location and size specified by x,y,w,h.
The frameless tag set to 1 means it will remove title and window borders.
Another option would be to place Stripper in a docker - although I've not tested this.

Hey, Leon, I know this is just some kind of a gimmick... nevertheless: do you see the possibility to add a function to the control panel that allows to fade the control animation?
For example, if a button with 128 frames is pressed, it won't jump from 1 to 128, but fades between the two values in x ms? ms time adjustable?
Edit:
Could be useful to implement effects such as the warm-up phase of tubes, bulbs etc.

for us guys who only use LBX in Dynamic mode , I'll try to explain :
would it be possible to include a script that does the track selector>master select automatically at startup ?
You know the first step that is needed before adding tracks

Have you ticked the 2nd bottom option on the track selector menu (Global) Set Track/Strip (page 1) to Dynamic Mode? And ensured FLW is off?
Or do I not understand what you mean?
