Heh, now that I fixed it by changing the background color of the media preview display, it's even worse here, sorry. Of course, heavily depends on which color is used for those various envelope colors.

Can the AI preview please just use the same color peaks are using? That would really be the most consistent solution. In fact, which color is that? I tried using Theme element finder to see which color peaks are using, but no color "pinked up" (for sure none of "media item peaks" colors did not show up as being used). Or did I just go too fast through the list?

Well... if you can't see the automation item in the media explorer with those colors, you won't be able to see take volume envelopes either!

I guess, heavily depends on the color used. Here's my take volume env color:

Agreed it's a bit tougher to see it on selected item (right one). Here's that same color in Media Explorer (after I darkened the background to make it work in pre7):

For comparison, here's the media item peaks color that is used in Media Explorer over here (and I can't find it via Theme element finder):

Yeah, I could adjust the take volume color, but look how audio peaks are pretty clear here, but envelope is not. If envelope used the same color, it might be a lot better, no?

Here's a bad mockup on how it'd approximately look if it used the same color as media peaks in Media Explorer:

Could you implement some variable smoothing, to dial it in as much as needed, per individual AI? With square envelope there is often clicking.

Some really nice additions!

Why are AIs from write automation in peices like this?

When zoomed in you can see space between them, they end on the beat but start a tad late, I assume its still a work in progress?

Great works now! (At least in my little sample project)

- Visual preview of select AI in media explorer works now !

But:
For me, Reaper crashes hard, when doubleclicking an automation item in Media Explorer, or when i right click on an AI and then choose a sub action, like "replace selected AI with .."

Default AI Own Grid

Could you add, via actions and automation item properties, optional individual grid setting for each AI (and saved with it).

It would be a big gain of time and mouse click to not always switch arrange grid snap to add/edit points.

For example with 1/8 snap AIs alongside 1/4 AIs and the cool "freehand draw envelope" snapped to grid, it would make my day for EDM stuff

I can't preview a selected midi item when I select an AI in the media explorer.
On OSX double click an AI in the Media explorer crashes Reaper.

That'd be nice, but moreover it'd be even nicer if we could custom color the FX parameter envelopes (envelopes "native" to the track already have dedicated colors in the theme editor).

Thanks for the additional AI options.

Took me a while to find them though. Was expecting them to be in the right click menu in the top left toolbar button.

Would it be a pain to have them there too?
