Default Force pointer Tool

Can I force the multi tool to be JUST the pointer when i need it to be.

For example if i'm zoomed out too far and i have fades on multiple items. I have to find JUST the right spot to move items that i've selected. If i could just press a button to FORCE the multitool to only use the pointer then i it wouldn't register the fade tool or the edge tool

preferences>appearance>media/fades. probably what you want is to show the handle when the fade is less than x pixels. Then you cannot grab the fades except by the top corners of the item. or you can try playing around in prefs>mouse modifiers, so that holding a modifier key will change the behavior of the mouse in relation to fades.
