How do I prevent a stem from dragging all the other stems with it?

How to reproduce:

all stems are midi. 5 tracks. 1 stem per track.

I created all my stems on measure 2.

I click on a stem in track 2. It's the only highlighted stem. I drag left. All the stems in all the other tracks follow that stem and they are not selected / highlighted!


I have tried alt - click drag, shift - click drag, control - click drag. nothing seems to stop that from happening!

Please help!

By stem you mean media item, yes?

Depending on the position relative to each other of the various items, this can happen when ripple editing (all tracks) is enabled.

You might have accidentally done this on your toolbar. You can turn it off by right clicking on the ripple tool and disabling it there, or from your Options menu.
