Not trying to be a pest, just thorough. I did find a corner case that makes an endless note, if you extend the item immediately after pasting:
If overlapping notes of same pitch and channel are pasted so that both note offs are >= the end of item/source, only one gets trimmed right, immediately. If you unselect the notes before extending the item they seem trimmed ok.

This also happens when changing the loop points when the playback cursor is near the right edge. Hopefully the cause was the same and it's also fixed.

At this point we're now considering adding the mainthread reset branches and the live FX improvements in, and calling it 5.90rc (the version jump to indicate some of the more major architectural changes). Any thoughts there?

OH HELL YEAH!!! Can't wait for some improvement on the live FX. I'm having some really bad performance issues with selected/ live tracks. If I select more than say 10 tracks at once that are record enabled the system freaks out and basically halts. I have 48 core machine that is barely taxing the CPU at about 38% so it should be able to handle the load of all the record armed tracks. Anything I can do to help you test or give feedback on how we can improve, I'm more than happy to do so.

5.85? 5.90 is a bit huge of a jump.

Yeah, agree with ED on that one. 5.9 is awfully close to 6.0. Might be digging a hole for yourself there...

Well, it depends on their roadmap to go to 6.00.

I found this:
1. Make a few midi items.
2. Open first midi item.
3. Glue midi item.
4. Open second midi item.
5. Glue midi item.
6. The position of midi item in midi editor after glueing is wrong (clip is moved off the screen).
My midi editor preferences:

Does it also happen when you disable "Close MIDI editor when the active item is deleted in the arrange view"?

We're not too worried about managing version numbers towards 6.0. We can go hexadecimal, or do a Zeno's arrow thing.

Also, the proposed architectural changes for 5.90 have been in development+pre-release testing for about 4 months, and would ultimately feel a bit unexpected for a .01 update, especially if they do cause regressions with some plug-ins (though my feeling is that they will fix far more issues than they cause when exposed to a wider userbase)...

Thanks,

If it's not in the changelog, it's not included.

Call it 6.0 for all I care. I would've happily paid my upgrade fee years ago, especially considering the update schedule of most DAWs:
1)"New version! Pay us $99 to upgrade."
2) 6 months later:
"Sorry those new features you paid for were broken, they should work now."
3) 6 months later: Go to 1).

Except the $99 was only for the first week - then it's $129
