Default Sample packs

For starters, I'm sorry that the question is not entirely related to Reaper himself.
I bought a packet of samples. Specifically this:
http://sounds.beatport.com/pack/epic...l-pack-1/15859
And I have a question about Midi Files. Why do these files, opened with a Media player, play a melody played on the piano?
And how can I use these files in Reaper?

MIDI files consist of a set of data items, some of whichwill be MIDI notes. When sent to a Media Player those notes will cause the player to make a sound. The default sound is an Acoustic Grand Piano, which is what you are hearing.

The sound can be changed by including a Program Change message in the MIDI file; Program #18 is a Rock Organ for example.

To use them in Reaper:
-- drag the MIDI file onto a track
-- add an instrument plug-in (which one depends on what sort of sound the MIDI is meant to trigger).

Looking at the web page I cannot work out what the MIDI ifles are for. Can you perhaps post one as an ZIPped_up attachment so we can have a look?

You might load those samples and loops into a sampler plug-in and use the MIDi to trigger them.

Ok i understood.
I will not put ZIPped_up attachment here because I don't know much about it.
But I can tell you what these files are. It's just a midi item with a melody, the same as from the sample. At least Reaper interprets them that way.

I asked as if we could see it we could give you more specific useful guidance.

Perhaps you could open it in the MIDI Editor, switch to Event List mode and take a screenshot of the first part of the item.

How to post attachments (in Post #1)
How to post screenshots (in Post #2)

Okay, perhaps able to add a compressed file.
Samples are in 100 BPM. It should be similar with midi files
Attached Files
File Type: zip TSCO_WOODWIND_LOOPS.zip (3.3 KB, 28 views)

I have now looked at the MIDI items, using the MIDI Editor Event List view.

"Flute Stac" has a Program Change event selecting Acoustic Grand Piano"; the other items do not have any Program Change events. Either way a media player would use the piano sound when playing these.

If you changed that Program Change vlaue to 73 (I think0 you would hear a flute, but probably not Staccato as that is not part of the General MIDI soundset.

What player does the sounds designer suggest that you use? Or how does he/she say that the MIDI files are used?

I have a problem understanding your question. (my english is not very skillful)
You ask what soundfont the creator of this package suggests?
There is nothing about it.
I searched the internet for a suitable midi bank a bit and found nothing
In fact, this sample pack is the first of two. I haven't bought the second one yet. Maybe there is some information.

Perhaps you can post in your own language as well as in English? Then other users can help too.

I was asking what the product creator (True Samples) says about using the MIDI files. Is there a User Guide?

There is nothing about it in the package. But I will look for information from the creator of the package.

That's how they wrote me on Facebook True Samples:
Hello.
MIDI files are needed so that you can put them on your track with the VST instrument and use this MIDI file with your own sound, and the notes in the MIDI file itself are already written.

I bought it for a trial. I wanted to check what these packages are. Midi files are just an addition. The package is mainly wav samples.
