Default 2D video with Ambisonics on youtube?

Hello,

for the sake of experimenting and give the audience a spatial experience also to 2D videos. I would like to know if it's possible to upload a 2D video with Ambisonics audio to Youtube? I cannot find info about it, as anyone takes for granted spatial sound is only for VR videos.

Thank you.

Hi lamacchiacosta,

Can you refine your question a little more, as its a broad topic with much detail. When you say Ambisonic, is that A or B format, what order? Or are you meaning a binaural rendering of some ambisonically recorder or processed material?

Cheers, tdc

When uploading VR videos on Youtube, the accepted format is AmbiX 1st Order with headtrack. I'd like to upload a non VR video, standard 2D with Ambisonic audio, possibly headtracked. Or in not possible and I am forced to upload only a stereo format?
Many thanks.

as far as I understand it's just 360 videos that can have ambisonic audio

You would need to do a equirectangular projection of some kind. The photo would need to be mapped onto a larger image that matches the dimensions and perspective of a 360 video. I have a couple ambisonic sounds/mixes uploaded to my youtube channel like this. The image is just a cube to offer a visual indication of the direction the listener is "facing".
