Default how can i set FX window position permanently

HI, before I had to reinstall Reaper because of a corrupted .ini I had the FX window always opening in the same place when I clicked on a track - my second monitor. Now when I click on a track or open a new track the FX window appears in the top left, covering over a bunch of handy things and no matter where I reposition it and leave it when I close the session - it pops up in that annoying place next time.

Any ideas how to place the window so that it stays there every time I reopen Reaper?

Have you tried to save the layout, after positioning the FX Window?

no - I thought layouts were to do with things like the TCP - are there two things with the same name?

Try if perhaps unchecking the Auto-position FX window options under Preferences > Plug-ins helps (in case they are checked).

thanks for those replies - I have found a solution, different to what I had before I think and maybe even better

both the fx and the fx browser windows are docked, the docker is floating and I have unchecked the Auto position Fx window in the preferences as per solger's suggestion.
I think there is a bit more tweaking to go but what I have now is good

thanks again

You could dock it to force it always to one side of your screen and use the option to have only one fx window open at a time.
