Actually, my gut feeling was to take some multimeters to it just to see if there is equal current running through every input/output. Maybe there's some itchy, scratchy shit in there.

I would then run maybe high end cymbal or other high frequency tones through each channel at maybe 88.2 or higher, just to see if there was some shift. Then maybe scope the files using "Schope" to see if there is a variance. (with Schope you can view three separate signals sumultaneously. The one that's out may tell a story.)
You can also use a full spectrum tone sweep file (like they use to may IR's) to test along the entire frequency range.
