Default Themes that hide child tracks completely.

As the title says, i'm looking for a theme where child tracks can be completely hidden.

I've found a couple, but they're not really suitable to gaze at long term. (for my usage)

Any clues?

Can i respectfully suggest this for the default theme? I'm using a lot of tracks, and even with all folders closed, i'm still scrolling. Does anyone else have this challenge? (If it's only me, then another theme will have to suffice, instead of changing the behaviour for everyone.)

Dont.

These themes don't (can't) hide children in the sense that they aren't in the arrange. The tracks simply get a height of 0 pixels so you can't see them. If you drag a marquee selection across those tracks all items will be selected and are subject to edits - even if you don't see what's happening.

Use the track manager or actions to hide tracks.
For example this macro toggles visibility (in arrange view) of all children of selected folder tracks:
- SWS: Save current track selection
- SWS: Select only children of selected folders
- Track: Toggle show/hide in TCP
- SWS: Restore saved track selection

It is also possible to build sets of toolbar buttons to show and hide tracks by name, eg "show only tracks with 'drum' in name" or "hide all tracks with 'drum' in name".

You can change any theme to do the zero height hack by opening the theme's rtconfig.txt file (it's in the theme's image folder, you need to use a zip unpacker if the theme is a *.reaperthemezip). Pretty much at the top of the file you find the line
Code:
tcp_heights 4 12 27 77
(the numbers are from my personal theme, will be different)
The first number (4) is the height of collapsed folder children. Try lower numbers, but as said 0 is not as good an idea as it seems at first glance.

Thanks for the heads up, and i think you're right. On reflection, it doesn't seem quite a good idea after all.

Default theme unpacker?

I did this a couple months ago but I can't remember how I did it.
Unpacked a reaperthemezip file and did the zero hack.
Is there an upacker you can recommend?
Thank you

Just for reference to the original question..

The first version of Reaction had this:

https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/833/RE...ReaperThemeZip

And Lamda's Compact does too:

Yes! It's a shame you can no longer download the final version. Only one of the early beta versions is available in the stash.

It is better to just hide the children tracks via an action, instead of 0 height.
B/c editing can really end up with some unwanted results.

Watch this video. I explain among other things how to mod any theme to hide child tracks completely.
