I like the album art.
The music is not my typical genre,
but sounds good

Good stuff! As always I find myself wishing there was a Download button on your SC, or at least a Bandcamp link.
Likes:
- instrumentation - fits the mood perfectly
- melody/harmony - no logical analysis here, it just hits the spot
- samples - the "background" singing is really nice
- production - the bass especially. there's also some grit that compliments the prettiness of the instruments - is that some bitcrushing? also on the first drop buildup, did you fade in a highpass on the kick?
- Mix - sounds perfect to me ears
- There is a repeated swell that I first hear at 0:22, sounds almost like a lap steel guitar, that is fucking rad and also reminds me of the string swells halfway through Metallica's "To Live Is To Die":
https://youtu.be/k7_hwgD1ugg?t=310
Dislikes:
- 3 drops/4 sections that didn't have enough differentiation for me. I thought it picked up momentum near the end with the ride at 2:52, I like that. IIWMS I'd consider two drops / three sections.
- The pitchshifted/child's voice appears too often. IIWMS, I'd cut it out of at least one of the sections.
- The combination of the two above items made the song as a whole more repetitive than I'd personally consider perfect. I prefer not to present a problem without a solution, so my personal suggestion would be to replace the voice from the "third" section, about 1:57-2:34, with another element and reduce the instruments using higher frequencies. Maybe something like a lowpassed Rhodes? Or one of the guitars in the intro to Yasmin the Light, one of them seems to have the tone knob turned down, or maybe it's the bass on the upper frets:
https://youtu.be/j1N5xJ__ewM?t=30
IMO though the above is nitpicking to get the song from 95% to 100%.

Great track, great production! Only critique: need bigger "payoff" for the buildups, like even a crash or some other sound explosion/bringing forward some extra element (personal taste maybe).

Hi Luke. Another good thing. It's been a time since we didn't hear from you. The only thing about this one is I can't bare the "Muppet like" voice. As in resistance, I think it wastes the piece. Everything around it is very well performed. I like this new kind of atmosphere at the beginning.
Well done. Bye

I agree with some previous posters thoughts about changes and such. That being said I really liked this. A lot. Maybe add some of the changes suggested previously and then contact Cirque de Soliel and sell them this song for their next show, cuz thats what I instantly thought of. Sounded fantastic!

Here's hopefully the final result. Added a crash or two. Some subtle mix changes. Changed the middle part a bit etc.
Enjoy the changes... Hopefully

Sounds fantastic. The kick is nice and punchy. The mix sounds very balanced to me overall and "in your face".
cheers

Thanks guys. I'll hopefully be posting more soon
Something I've just noticed is that the kicks clicky part doesn't punch through on every hit. I wonder why.. I'm assuming its the inconsistency of the side chain or the elements hitting during those kicks.
Other then that I'm happy with what I got.

Hi Luke.

Hi Luke, maybe a little less (only 90 % of it maybe) of Comp, ...it's pumping a little.
But you are on it. I've been with it 'til yesterday.

Yep - I'm liking this - I'm beginning to appreciate the trip-hop genre (or downtempo, or whatever you call it), when it really makes an effort to be interesting.
It's not just a bunch of beats thrown together - this is a piece of music.

More important, it's coming even better this time. The work on the voices (my favourites), is really cool in term of sound and panning. Was already a good piece, now it's awesome. Nice job my friend. Bye

Listened to it again. Still cool.
Like the way the kick hits at 2.30. Very thin with the voice coming just after there. Is your compressor just on the kick or on the whole piece ? (or both)(or anywhere )

The only thing I'm compressing in the home song is the master buss. That's being heavily compressed compared to traditional standards

Still great. Clearer if I remember the previous version right.
I don't like the heavy kick though, but I guess it's part of this genre.
