Default Do people use reaper on live performance?

I wonder whether musicians use reaper in live performances. and are they using the built-in FX live instead of all pedals etc?

If they do how do they achieve that? especially on the streets? buskers?

Reaper is a monster for stability at low latency and great for live work. It's been my guitar rig 'brain' for a long time now. I started running live sound with Reaper around 2009. I did finally break down and grab an X32 to use for most live gigs now. Smaller and much cheaper than the Mac Pro rig! It was DIY back in 2009 though. Reaper will stay as the guitar rig forever.

I'm always paranoid about using computers for anything critical in a live show. Computers are the least reliable things we own and sooner or later everybody has computer problems and it's usually not a quick-fix. If the show can go on without the computer, no big deal.

Otherwise you should have a back-up all configured and ready to drop-in. ...Most guitar players carry spare strings and a spare cord (and sometimes spare guitars). Aside from the cords & strings a guitar and amp will usually last for many years with no show-stopping problems.

It's also helpful if the computer (and back-up) is dedicated and not messed-with during the day. (Most computer reliability issues are related to something being changed or other "user error".)

P.S.
It's the same with live recording. If it's a critical one-time event with no chance of "take two", you should have two systems recording in parallel. And with computer recording, you usually don't know there's been a problem 'till the next day.

Hey- well it seems at least 1 of the creators (justin) uses the software for live all the time..has pedals and other things setup together-so if it is good enough for the maker- must be good enough for most uses + users?

Reaper just turned into the everything tool for audio for me. Studio, live sound, performance rig. Whatever needs a mixing board and devices. And it's always recording multitrack in every scenario.
