Are these bugs or by design ?
Hello
I've installed the latest update , 705, and the ' Remove items ' tab now removes all the latest tracks, not just the one I've selected.
Secondly, I'm no longer asked if I want to keep a track that I've just recorded. It's retained anyway.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate.
I reverted to 702 and ' Remove items ' works as I'm used to- that is only the selected track is removed, not all recent tracks. The ' Do you want to keep etc. ' message is no longer there though.
If these ' changes ' are by design, how can I obtain the last version before such ' changes ' were made- as I've deleted all my previous Reaper versions.

For the other question: Which action are you exactly referring to?

Thanks for that, smandrap. I hope that further updates don't alter my settings .
The other change is that right-clicking a track that I want to delete by selecting ' Remove items ' in the drop-down menu used to remove just that track. Now it removes all tracks that I've recorded in that session. I can't find any solution in ' Preferences'- but maybe that a matter of language.

Updates do not change settings unless specified in the changelog (and if they do, the changes are usually very minor).
Regarding 'Remove items': sorry but i'm still confused about this. Could you make a screencap to show your problem?

If you mean the track control panel right-click menu item "Remove tracks" (not "remove items"), that affects all selected tracks, not just the clicked-on track. I don't think that behavior has changed.
Also, the default for "Prompt to save/delete/rename new files" has not changed. Is there any chance you unintentionally unchecked that preference?

Mine changed- and having all my tracks deleted instead of just the one specified is hardly ' minor ' to me.
The ' keep or delete ' feature is now restored though- thank you- just by ticking the box you indicated.
My Windows ' screen snip ' won't function to include drop-down menus- but if I can explain again- right clicking any recorded track produces a drop-down menu which includes the ' remove items ' function. I've been using that to remove tracks that I don't want- but after updating that function removed ALL my recent tracks, not just the selected one.

Yes, ' Remove tracks ' functions but I just want to remove the recorded content of the track, not the entire track settings.
No, I haven't been into ' Preferences ' for quite some time. The box unticked without me.
As I said, I've reverted to 702 while I complete what I'm doing. When I've finished I'll reload 705- or newer- and report back.
Thanks for your attention.

Included with Reaper is LiceCap, a very handy screen capture utility that allows you to, among other things, record drop-down menus and mouse movements. Just search for it in the actions window.

‘Remove tracks’ well… it removes tracks . All the selected ones. I think what you want to do is select all the CONTENT of the track and then delete it. Am it right?
Anyway, as Fabian suggested, if you provide a screen capture of what your doing it’s easier to help you

to select all items on a track you can double-click the track (TCP)
then press delete key.
If an item has focus the delete key deletes the item
If a track has focus the delete key deletes the track and everything on it

Now you're getting it, yes.

OK- I've re-installed 705 without any repetition of the two previous changes. I assure you that I didn't make any changes myself- so it's one for the mystery book.
I'll bookmark this post and re-open it , if necessary, in future.
Thanks to all for your advice.
