Default Midiman and Focusrite 2i2

Have recently just bought my focusrite 2i2 audio interface and a M-audio midiman to connect my keyboard.
How do I set them both up to work because as far as my newb eye can see its one or the other?
Please keep the replies simple, I am completely new to recording.
Thanks

Scarlett has a MIDI i/o that you can hook your keyboard up to. You don't really need another MIDI interface as well.

Just attach your midi keyboard to the Scarlett's MIDI in.

If however you have a midiman KEYBOARD with a USB connector, you need to just enable that as a MIDI input and disable the scarlett's MIDI in within reaper

Oops! I have the focusrite saffire6 and went and looked at the OTHER bigger scarlett.

If the midiman comes with its own drivers it should show up as a midi device in the prefs as I outlined & you should be able to use the Scarlett for audio and the MIDIman for keyboard input.

So you enable the scarlett for audio i/o and the midiman for midi.

You then plug your keyboard MIDI connectors into the MIDIMan if you want to enter MIDI into reaper but if you also want to record the SOUNDS of your keyboard, you will have to plug the keyboard audio out into an input of the scarlett.

You really only need to record midi if you want to use different sounds than the ones you have in the keyboard itself.
For isntance I use the MIDI from my electronic drums to trigger EZDrummer within reaper but I also occasionally record the audio on a separate channel from the MIDI so I have a choice of the sound "as is" or with different VST drum synths.
