Mercuriall JCM800 HOT Preamp
Anyone tried the JCM800 Hot version that was released on monday?
Specifically, the HOT x64 version located here:
http://mercuriall.iks.ru/files/
I would love to say i have tried it over the regular JCM800 Preamp x64 (which i have already, and quite frankly, its absolutely stunning), but i can't because i cant find a computer or connection that will download the god-damn file.
If someone can get their mitts on this file, for mercies sake please dropbox it or whatever.
As a matter of fact, if someone could surrogately host that entire site, with a download speed that is somewhere post-1995, myself and many other very frustrated shredheads would be forever thankful
There is some real gold there but noone can get to it.

One guy from guitarampmodeling forum posted Dropbox links:
http://guitarampmodeling.com/viewtop...p=92347#p92347
And here's a new one, Harlequin Preamp:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=391755
EDIT: Next time you want to download something from a slow site like Mercuriall, try using FDM (Free Download Manager). It will continue dropped downloads and create multiple connections to the same file (segmentation), so it downloads slightly faster.

DLs worked fine for me on all downloads from his site. It first started out as very slow for maybe 3-4 minutes then it DL'd fast from there. Can't wait to try all 3 (800, tomato and Harlequin).

Cheers guys ..... Downloaded and testing now
I have an actual 1984 2204, as well as a 1988 4211 combo (the channel switching one that everyone hates), so i think i'm going to be out of action for a few days while i try these out plugins out and compare

Every plugin on that site is goddamned amazing.
Haven't tried the hot version yet, was trying to download it this morning, but it kept pausing.

Get that Free Download Manager that is mentioned a few posts up.
It Works. Very Well.
Once i installed that, the downloads from the .ru site were still slow, but they all actually finalised in the end, after a couple of hours.
Made it all much less frustrating.

Nope. FDM is great, free, and no bloat.

gave the ole' JCM800 HOT a try today... nice. when it comes to ampsims i always end up with LePou. Specifically his HYBRIT sim. it seems the most organic of the bunch. anyway, i've always liked Mercuriall too, but earlier versions just never had the edge on LePou. Well... this one may have finally overtaken LePou. it's clean with a nice organic tone.. verdict's still out - but so far, really liking it! thanks for the dropbox posts above. the main site is just dead slow..

I have a seperate internet only PC, with no precious data on it, other than un-backed up downloads ... this PC does nothing but surf the web, and FDM is great for that kind of setup.
It seems to me it just basically replaces the native Download Manager applet inside firefox/IE/whatever, with its own one that is far more efficient and faster.
Like deleting a stock plugin and replacing it with something better
Anyway, do you really think ED would abide any trace of bloat on any of his rigs?

Yeah i've always been a SimulAnalog JCM900 fan, i've never really stopped using that because, to me, it always just sounded better and felt better to play ... it responds to pedal-sims and impulses well, and has no GUI that needs embedding in x64 DAWs.
I've extensively tried out GR5, TH2, S-Gear, various flavours of Amplitube, Podfarm on RTAS, the two SoftTube ones (Metal Room?), god knows what else ... SimuAnalog just felt better than all of em. I think the Simul stuff is well over 10 years old, and JCM900 is barely 150Kb in size :S
However this Mercuriall guy just eats all of them alive.
JCM800P, JCM800 Hot, Harlequin, along with Mercuriall Cab v3 ... i still just cannot believe how good they sound. It's now a DAW cliche, but it reminds me of the first time i heard a good convo reverb in action.
The realism is striking, and it takes a while for the novelty to wear off
Along with TSE x64 pedalsims (also free! how do they find it in themselves to do this?) i think i am going to be happy for a very long time.

I'll kinda disagree with you on S-Gear there - it's amazing. The only thing out there that's comparable to S-Gear is Mercuriall, right now.

I have no need for a download manager. I download files just fine, but if it improves things for others thats cool too.

All due respect Coachez, but i think you aren't privvy to just what we are talking about here
We're not talking about downloading from the net, in general, but from a single specific site that happens to be veeeerrrryyyy slow for just about everyone who tries to access it, regardless of their own local speed.
This site also happens to be in Russia, as does this one talented programmer who is coding all these goodies.
The guitar amp model forums are littered with posts from many users who had serious trouble downloading from this site, and i'm sure quite a few of those had very fast internet speeds, and were quite aware of how to download a zip
Its a moot point now anyway, because its all on the Google drive link above.
Mercuriall for all and no more tears

Anybody else has had problems with the zip files giving an error when trying to open them?
I get an "invalid file" error
EDIT; Never mind, got the files from Evil Dragon's link and those open fine

one comment about jcm800 hot, and perhaps the others too, they do certainly like CPU. i'm running at 4x... what is everybody else running? i have a quad i7, and it's handling it, but definitely lagging a bit for the first time with 6 of the jcm800 hot loading..

Not over here.
CPU is justified - it's a neural network solver, which is much more complex than fixed equation solvers all other ampsims use.
